I'll have to correct your question: George W Bush was never
elected. So the question is: Will he be elected?

Let's hope NOT! But I wouldn't bet my life savings on it.
Several things might happen:

1. Osama Bin Laden - I suspect George to be hiding Osama,
waiting for just the right moment before the election to
announce having caught him. His popularity would get a big
boost!

2. 9/11 II - Just imagine what another grand scale terrorist
attack a few weeks before the election would have on the
american people! Another boost of popularity is what I
reckon would happen, like it did in 2001. Otherwise George
could just declare Martial Law and the elections would be
off.

3. Diebold electronic voting technology - Diebold supports
the republicans AND they deliver the technology for
electronic voting. This technology has been protected by
copyright law preventing closer examination to reveal all
possible flaws. And there have been flaws! Votes have been
lost, recounting has been impossible and so on.. Read about
the Diebold-republican connection here and read
about the problems with e-voting here.

I think I can say for sure that we're up for a real
thriller!

Ive also considered the possiblities of another 9/11 or the
capture of Usama occuring at an oppertune time before the
elections. Also Sadam's trail is another thing to consider.

Quite the obvious conspiracies you have there. Did you come
up with those all by yourself? With those ideas, maybe you
should pursue a writing career.

The fact that you actually beleive that to be true, with all
of the forces looking for him, the people dying in the
search, sigh....not going to even continue that
conversation.

Only time will tell, eh?

Dolleater,

"Ive also considered the possiblities of another 9/11 or
the capture of Usama occuring at an oppertune time before
the elections. "

You think that we know about another attack, and that
we will let it happen right before elections just to get
higher ratings (not sure how higher ratings would come from
another attack? please explain?!)

...that's just a sick, sick thought man......

Technology is tearing this planet apart.

If this happened 5 or 10 years ago, I surely doubt there
would be quite the uproar.

Just you wait....next time a country does anything out of
the norm, the media will pick it up and it will be
tomorrow's headlines and plastered all over the news.

Then what.............

We don't need this in our face 24/7 and allowing people who
don't know what they're talking about sit back and take
shots on how they feel about it.

Opinions are great and all; without them we have slavery,
but sometimes things get downright silly.

if dubya is capable of capturing one of the most
recognisable figures on the planet, and hiding him for
months (if not years), without any of the al qaeda
spokesmen, the local populace, the countless us military
men, the pakistani army, officials, or enemies involved
leaking the story to a major news outlet i would be very
impressed at his skill.

When you say "we" are you refering to yourself, the public
in general? When has the public ever had prior knowledge of
anything? We didnt in pearl harbor, but the military did.
and because of their gross negligence "we" werent
prepared. I dont consider my thoughts sick in reference to
the type of truely sick people occupying in the white house.

Dolleater,

While it is plain obvious to look at things such as Pearl
Harbor after the fact that it has happened, you must
also contain the mental capacity of how many attempts and
attacks we may have prevented in the past.

Considering we have only had a few *major* attacks (as bad
as this sounds............) I feel that that is pretty damn
good.

Remember, no news is good news.

offline Dolleater from Afrika Bambaataa on 2004-03-23 15:47 [#01115229]

its quite possible for something to be strategically
overlooked. And because our government is so hard-pressed to
disclose ANY information to the people we cant help but look
at things until after the fact. Could you possibly inform me
using your great capacity as to what these thwarted *major*
attacks were?

pipe bombers and snipers dont count.

...........................

Who knows how many ('if any' does not apply here) attacks we
have evaded because of intelligence or "hunches" etc.
etc.).

It seems as though you've missed my point, entirely.

Was there some negligence concerning Pearl Harbor? Sure,
from the documentaries I've seen (and I Sure as hell
have-not lived through).

But that was a mistake in the time of war.

A time when technology was not quite as powerful, and
chances/guesses had to be made on the best information at
hand.

I don't think in a time of military and war, you certainly
cannot be right all the time. :(

I understand what you are trying to say; government
witholding information to the people, but sometimes you just
have to be realistic, and sometimes we are all blind.

Now don't take this too literally to reflect my opinion on
the current situation.

Do I feel all the known facts or theories prior to 9/11
should be brought out in the open?

-Sure.

Do I feel that if we knew about a possible 'attack' that we
should have taken greater measurements?

-You god Damn right I do.

It's just business, they care fuck all for any humanitarian
angle, that's just the veil they put up for the people.

Obviously it's like hiding an elephant behind a blade of
grass, but a couple of smooth talkers accompanied with a few
images and videofootage seems to work miracles on the
masses' opinions regarding the reasons for the conflict.

Deaths, no matter how big the number, on homesoil or abroad
are completely negligible for the cause.

Puppets who have served their purpose are discarded and new
puppets will be put into place so to keep the wheel
turning.

It's nothing new really, just another day at the office.

Well since we are going to Iraq for mere oil, I'm kinda
curious why gas prices will be the highest ever, come this
summer.

Hmmm maybe Bush is just doing this on purpose (you know,
since he has SO much control over it, lol) so when its a
month before election times he'll bring prices back down to
a buck a gallon.

No Way!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see it now, all over the news.

Ceri: because i've had to explain it twenty times outside of
this mb as well. it seems that there is some american
"fashion" which makes it cool to ask norwegians: "how is to
be communist?"

elusive: it may very well be that YOU understand this, but
everyone else I've talked to from america fail to understand
this until they've actually visited norway. Also, a friend
of mine is studying in Hawaii at the moment, and there are
several americans there.. his nickname is "commie."

also: being overly-patriotic isn't good. our country is
being run into a dump right now, 'cause right now we don't
even have an elected prime minister (the one who was elected
stepped down, and then it automatically goes to the next
person on the list). It also seems that the two shittiest
parties (one of them wants to privatize everything (schools,
hospitals, and so-on), and the other also wants to
privatize, but they also want to throw out all the refugees)
are getting better ratings. People fall for their promises
of more money and cheaper.. everything.. I know they'll just
fuck it up. Fortunately, a non-coalition government in
norway is unavoidable, so the other large parties will also
have a say in this.

Privatize = Bad!!

The norwegian politicians should look at sweden as a warning
example.
We had it so good here and everything worked smooth like
clockwork.
Now they are fucking it up with capitalist ideas =(

yep. I hate privatizing and overly-capitalistic ideals.. it
just leads to war and destruction...

therefore, I hope people here in norway will get their act
together and realize that "FRP" and "høyre" (parties) are
bad!

being VERY patriotic or "overly" so, can be bad because lots
of these americans and people in other nations are, and it
just makes them blind to their problems they have in that
country. like these IDIOT americans i was talking to.. ar!

yeah.. to say that nothing is banned in america.. legal
drinking age: 21.

and:

South Dakota:

"No horses are allowed into Fountain Inn unless they are
wearing pants."

"It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese
factory."

"Movies that show police officers being struck, beaten, or
treated in an offensive manner are forbidden."

"If there are more than 5 Native Americans on your property
you may shoot them."

Baltimore, Maryland

"No person who is a "tramp" or "vagrant" shall loiter in any
park at any time. They define tramp as a person who roves
for begging purposes and a vagrant as an idle person who is
able-bodied living without labor. It's a $50 fine. I guess
the tramp would have to beg for the money to pay the fine.
-Park Rule 6"

Georgia:

"Donkeys may not be kept in bathtubs."

"Signs are required to be written in English."

"No one may carry an ice cream cone in their back pocket if
it is Sunday."

Nebraska:

"If a child burps during church, his parent may be
arrested."

"It is illegal for bar owners to sell beer unless they are
simultaneously brewing a kettle of soup."

"It is illegal for a mother to give her daughter a perm
without a state license."

Minnesota:

"A person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his
head."

"It is illegal to sleep naked."

"Citizens may not enter Wisconsin with a chicken on their
head."

"All bathtubs must have feet."

Utah

"It is illegal to cause a catastrophe."

"It is illegal not to drink milk."

It is illegal to detonate any nuclear weapon. You can have
them, but you just can't detonate them.

New York (the state)

"The penalty for jumping off a building is death."

"While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and
fold his hands while looking toward the door."

"Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 P.M."

well.. I suppose a few dominatrixes have been arrested the
last year... the one about free alcohol to indians in
reservations is also probable to have been enforced.

I remember some small notice in a norwegian paper about the
"All bathtubs must have feet" thing last year, I think...
someone had a bathtub without feet, and got a fine.
