The distortion comment is getting a bit tried and tested now
tits. Maybe you should try and write things differently
since we always seem to interpret your replies wrong
according to you. If you don't mean it that way, then
don't write it as if you do.

i'm not quite sure what you're saying daniel. make sure you
read all my posts, i tried to clarify myself for some
people, and yea there's a healthy dose of subtle humor
(parody, light sarcasm, etc.) involved as per usual.

THEY SCHOOLS is fantastic......Mr. T played it on his radio
and i think thats what got him in trouble with the
station....ehehheh

their newest release is delayed cos Columbia dropped them
because of the controversy in some of their lyrics.....i'll
find the article and link it for you to read! they are gonna
release it themselves tho.........they have the BEST beats
around IMO and the most thought provoking lyrics!

*it's the pond.....i have it on good sources she spends a
good amount of time in jolly ole england* ahhahah

and ELECTRO.....i can't say i like he ass wiggling.....she's
NOT pretty IMO.....very PLASTIC and fake....but again it's
just MY OPINION.......ehehhee

Yes, I was particularly impressed by their lyrics - it's
good to hear that kind of stuff these downs, what with the
amount of utter garbage that's passed off as 'hip-hop'!

okies......here's the DEAD PREZ article

and d/l this song: Hell Yeah

it's from the NOW DELAYED album and part of the reason they
were dropped, the lyrics are quite inflamatory....

here's the lyrics....no link sorry:

listen[Intro]
Holten street, Dean street, click clack, president, ????? ,
dp's orange
????, rbg's , t-town?, we wanna ride, Brooklyn, come on ,

[Verse 1]
Sittin in the livin room on the floor hunger pain
got me on some migraine shit but I'ma maintain
nigga got 2 to 3 dollars to my name
and my homies in the same boat goin through the same thang
ready for a caper
steady plottin for the paper
we been livin in the dark since april
on the count of
gotta get a hammer
my homey got a 25 automatic added to the gambit
nigga get the phone book look up in the yellow page
let me tell ya how we fin ta get paid
we gonna order pizza
when we see the driver we gonna stick the 25 up in his face
lets ride, steppin outside like warriors
into the notorious south side
one weapon to the four of us
hidin in the corridor till we see the domino's car
headlights
white boy in the wrong place at the right time
soon as the car door open up he mine
we roll up quick and put the pistol to his nose
by the look on his face he probably shitted in his clothes
you know what this is, it's a stick up
give me tha doe from your pick ups
you ran into the wrong niggas
we runnin down the block hot with these pizza boxes
so we split up and met back at the apartment

HeLLLLLLLL YeaaaaaaHHHHHH!
well ain't you hungry my nigga
HeLLLLLLLL YeaaaaaaHHHHHH!
you wanna get paid my nigga
HeLLLLLLLL YeaaaaaaHHHHHH!
ain't you tired of starving my nigga
HeLLLLLLLL YeaaaaaaHHHHHH!

[Verse 2]
I know a way we can get paid

Uh, one thing 'bout music when it hit you feel no pain
White folks say it controls yo' brain
I know better than that, that's game
And we ready for that - two soldiers head of the pack
Matter of fact, who got the gat?
And where my army at? Rather attack and not react
Back to beats, it don't reflect on how many records get
sold
On sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll
Whether your project's put on hold
In the real world; these just people with ideas
They just like me and you when the smoke and camera
disappear
Against the real world *echos*
It's bigger than all these fake-ass records
When po' folks got the millions and my woman's disrespected
If you check 1-2, my word of advice to you is just relax
Just do what you got to do; if that don't work, then kick
the facts
If you a fighter, rider, biter, flame-ignitor,
crowd-exciter
Or you wanna jus' get high, then just say it
But then if you a liar-liar, pants on fire, wolf-crier,
agent wit' a wire
I'm gon' know it when I play it

It's bigger than..hip..hop..hip..hop..hip..hop..hip..
It's bigger than..hip..hop..hip..hop..hip..hop..hip-hop

oops continued ....too long

[Verse 2]
I know a way we can get paid
you can get down but you can't be afraid
lets go to the DMV and get a ID
the name says you but the face is me
now it's your turn take my paperwork
like 123 lets make it work
then fill out the credit card application and it's gonna be
about 3 weeks of waitin
for American express discovery card , platinum, visa master
card
cause when we was spooked and shit we was targets
now we just walk up and say charge it
to the game we rockin brand names
well known at department store chains
even got the boys in the crew a few thangs
po po never know who the true blame
store after store you know we kept rollin
wait two weeks report the car stolen
repeat the cycle like a laundromat
like a glitch in the system it's hard to catch
comin out the mall with the shoppin bags
then take it right back and get the cash
yeah, get a friend and do it again, damn right that’s how
we pay the rent.

[Bridge]
got to get this paper
I’m down for the caper
we steady on the grind
it’s a daily struggle
we all gotta hustle, this is the way we survive
got to get this paper
I'm down for the caper
we steady on the grind
it’s a daily struggle
we all gotta hustle, this is the way we survive

[Verse 3]
I know a caper
we can get some governmemt paper
you know food stamps
can we really do that
Hell yeah! Right there for the taking
fuck welfare we say reperations
and ah, you know the grind
get up early, get on the line
and just wait eveybody on break
thats part of the game
and when they call your name
”Ms. case worker let me stake my claim
I'm homeless, jobless, times is hard, I’m about hopeless
but I gotta eat regardless
no family to run to I'm 22
now tell me what the fuck I'm supposed to do”
My sad story made her feel close to me
I made her feel like it was an emergency
and when I came to the crib niggas couldn't believe
I came back with a big bag of groceries

Hellllllll Yeaahhhhhhhh!!!

[Verse 4]
every job I ever had I had to get ‘em
on the first day I found out how to pimp the system
two steps ahead of the manager
gettin over on the regular

and when I'm workin late nights stockin boxes I'm creepin

and don’t put me on dishes I'm droppin them bitches
and taken all day long to mop the kitchen
shit, we aint gettin paid commission
minimum wage, modern day slave conditions
got me flippin burgers with no power can't even buy one off
what I make in an hour
I'm not the one to kiss ass for the top position
I take mine off the top like a politician
where I'm from doin dirt is a part of livin
I got mouths to feed dawg, I got to get it

Hellllllll Yeaahhhhhhhh!!!

Dead Prez= nice beats, nice lyrics.

Sometimes their lyrics can seem a bit too offensive and
sometimes even rascist, but they not. They just rap about
things that other rap too cryptic about like wu or some of
these rappers even too afraid to even talk about...

here's some lyrics i've got so far:

it's been the eighth day since i left my shoes on the
runway.
ran outta flares so i hadda toss the signal, couldn't lay
the sway.
i saw an old persian kitty pinchin' a loaf near the
intersection,
maybe the birds be sharin' the wealth on him, from every
direction.
i knew the day would come when all the birdies migrate
north,
but i never realized it took 'em just an hour to commoute
back 'n forth,
my feet are cold, but at least my wallet's got five grand in
revenue,
dinner special will be humuhumunukunukuapua'a on top of the
menu.
slap on a tux, get the big bucks from the influx,
feels like we snow ducks, waddlin' northbound in the
mukluks,
if the thugs try to lay us down, street-style like muhammed
ali,
we pack 'em up like pugs, implementin' the inner dragon,
bruce lee.
save your grievances, ja rule, you don't need to strive to
be cool,
same applies to all you other neo-gangstas hittin' on cash
like fools.
who more obvious to sponsor you than the profit ambition,
your egos have elevated to force protection condition:

foxtrot uniform charlie kilo.

these

Cypress Hill - 3 Temples of Boom
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Ghostface Killa - Ironman

huh? I sure hope you are joking with all your posts in this
thread...

I don't like rap overall... although my favorite song from
Cinematic Orchestras Everyday album (which I love) is the
one with rapping, All Things to All Men or something... just
love it...

I enjoy pretty much everything about hip-hop except the
rapping... I love the beats, the sampling, the scratching
and djing and all that... just the rap bores me most times!

some are joking, some are serious.. i can't be either all of
the time. anyway, i'm not going to get into it like i used
to, but the major point i want to make is that hip-hop is a
huge and diverse genre and anyone into "idm" would find lots
of great hip-hop artists--instrumental and vocal--to enjoy
IF THEY SO CHOOSE (they do not have to). obviously, with
this point i am also talking about biases people have
against "rap" (derrogatory term cos of its connotations) and
how they come to be.

you really should consider using smilie faces sometimes
though... I began reading this thread and didn't know what
the hell to think cause it's hard to tell jokes when there
is nothing there to identify them... you're a reasonable
person though, and some of the things you said seemed to
rediculous to be serious... :)

sometimes i say something serious but i make it less severe
by formulating it into a joke.. othertimes i am making a
point by parodying the opposing opinion/argument and i try
to make it so obvious that confusion would be avoided..

i was into it in at an early age but didnt like it for a
while
autechre got me into hip-hop again with playing really good
hiphop in their mixes

i really like madlib, old nas and old busta rhymes(nowadays
they are realy mediocre) wu-tang clan, tribe called quest,
rza, daddy freddy, cannibal-ox

top hiphop track for me is the 7th chamber tracks on enter
the wu-tang clan(36 chambers) really dark oldscool stuff
still didnt hear a better track then this

i used to really like hip-hop especially
for the production but nowadays i real
ly only like fine lyricists like raekwon
or mf doom. autechre had the opposite
effect on me with hip-hop; i cant stand
subpar music now that i like autechre
so i dont listen to much hip-hop at all.
they are hip-hop exponentialized imo.
