am i the only one hoping for a gender-stereotyped behaviour role reversal? why can't it be women who are forced to ponder: "hmm. what is the best way to get a man?" - it is faulty to assume that it always comes down to sex. in my personal experience, i have always found that the more forward a girl is with me sexually during an initial encounter, the more likely i am to reject her (for the fact that i am not at all about one-night-stand casual hookups; long-term relationships are the way to go, as far as i'm concerned, and a girl who tries to woo me over with sex upfront, is likely not one who can be trusted in a long-term relationship). to make a long thread short, i would very much like to see women putting in a lot more effort into dating than society generally expects of them - why is it that i must always be the one coming up with interesting places to go to on a date? let the girls do some thinking in this department. the general rule for anyone to follow should be this: expect of another as much as you would expect of yourself. |

Why should girls bother with that effort crap when all they have to do is click their fingers and some desperate guy will be bending over backwards for them? It's so set in stone as part of culture that a boring, shallow average person will work most of the week, go out at the weekend, get pissed, sleep with someone/fail to sleep with someone, wake up the following morning with a hangover, then repeat. It's like clockwork or something. It's enough for some people and I don't mind that at all but, it's not the type of thing I feel the need to do. I suppose I'm not really 'up for a laugh'. |

#1) Be confident. Period. The more confident you are, the better you will appear. There are many reasons for this, confidence = power, confidence means you're experienced, etc. #2) Get off your ass. If you're overweight, lose it. If you haven't worried about your looks, go buy a few magazines, ask your barber for some tips. You don't need to be stunning, but do some minimal touchups, learn to dress with matching stuff, etc. #3) BOREDOM IS AN ADDICTION You want to meet girls, overcome this. Go out. If you're one of the guys sitting on the wall watching other people dance, you are as appealling as they are. If you go take chances, you will get shot down. I wouldn't necessarily critisise the whole sex up front thing. The real issue is all these morons who *only* think about the sex act. Sure it's important but it is but one element of a larger set and without this set any relationship is doomed (or even if it lasts is meaningless). |

and anyway, after numerous failed relationships, I (possibly the most shy/over-emotional/fucked-up person on this hemisphere) have managed to find a woman who a. loves me as much as I love her b.
