I recently met with my advisor for my project about this
message board. He says that I have enough information for a
book. Though a humble paper is all I'm aspiring to, it's
time for me to start writing.

I plan to continue reading the board.

Thank you to everyone for their help and to Pomme de Terre
for directing me to Xltronic in the first place.

i'll answer anyway, tho this is old and irrelevant:

there is something wonderfully eccentric about the music
that usually gets discussed around here. many of us are
taken to have a very bizzare (sometimes aggrevatingly
bizzare) taste in music by people who know us in real life,
which makes for a great, surprising familiarity between
members. it creates an immediate frame of reference.

of course the digressions bespeak an intimate social
element. people really come here to feel some sort of
connection with other people, tho not neccessarily a
profound one.. the music just provides a context. all those
hags that insist we should talk only about music all the
time should be shot for being communist spies.

1 : I dont go to raves.....I can not answer this
question
2 :Yes, isnt that the point of messageboards to find
and socialize with like minded people ?
3 :No not really, its a personality competition I
guess, much like in real life
4 : Nah....I come here for entertainment and
schoolyard fun, im not neccesarly looking for "contacts"
5 :I posted frequently on the aphextwin.nu MB...I
think XLT is more relaxed than other MBs, you might post a
bullshit thread, and maybe later some kind of intresting
conversations develops out of it...
6 :...people sometimes diss me...it is some nasty
form of socialization I guess....
