at this end of the musical spectrum, we are crossing into
Art... and here, anything goes. Love it or Loath it, if it
floats your boat then ...cool

ok. if anyone wants to prove me wrong... please link to
multiple noise songs for me to listen to. Id like to see a
large amount of noise music, so I can be more objective with
my statements.

and when I say noise... i mean it as in long drones of white
noise. with no rhythm or melody.

PS - I've just put on Confield to remind myself what its
like... and yeah... it rocks.. loads of melodies/rhythms
actually (damn sight more than at their recent gig ;))

"and neither is every other thing youve said about me" ---
who ya talkin too?

I understand where you are comming from with this, but I
think every kind of music is good in its own right.

Name some artists that makes noise you dont like zeus, then
I could get a better idea of what your talking about.

when I last saw AE, it wasn't the noise that pissed me
off... just the complete lack of any rhythm or melody - not
a major problem, maybe i was just in the wrong frame of
mind.... and yeah, I mean *COMPLETE LACK* i.e. I've heard
just about every AE release and this was somethin' else!

See I love everything Ae have ever done...but no matter how
much Venetian Snares I listen to I just can't get into any
of the music. But even though I don't lie it, you don't see
me criticising the talentless fucking hippy do you?

noise music is easy to make, so is all electronic music
I personally like some "noise" music, and have made some of
it
probably spent more time working on some of those tunes than
I did on their non-noise counterparts

BTW, Real noise doesn't have beats or melodies.

I know, but this topic is full of must and dust, just let it
lie. People change and tastes mutate and yaddayaddayadda.
The only thing that's a constant is noise music sucking.

music is comprised of rhythm and melody. noise is a totally
separate thing, and the idea of noise music is total
bullshit.

It isn't musical.

Taking noise, cutting it up into rhythmical patterns and
obscuring it (e.g druqks) *is* music, because noise is being
turned into music.

Taking noise, producing and editing it and coming out with
noise doesn't accomplish shit. It's simply *not* musical, no
matter what pretentious slant on music you like to take.

I'm certainly siding with Zeus here.

I remember when I delivered pizza driving around listening
to Merzbow at high volumes. It really can put you in a
weird mental place although I don't really listen to it much
anymore and even then it was only in small doses. I guess
some people prefer to work exclusivly in that medium and
some people enjoy listening to music that is made exclusivly
in that medium, but for me noise can be a great element in a
dynamic piece of music but not as the sole element.

Zeus, lemme put in my bit about what you are saying. And do
keep in mind, I respect your opinion, I am not starting a
fight, etc.

It seems that youre posts are pigeonholing the concept of
noise music...in that noise music is made of PSSSSSH and
long white noises...but noise is broader than that. Theres
bad releases in every genre of music, just have to accept
that. To me, its like saying everything electronic in music
has a 4/4 beat, or a siren in the background.

btw, im not too much a fan of noise music, but i enjoyed
satanstornade thuroughly...goddamn i cant spell..alright,
later!
