Svalx and atwood, and to a lesser degree larn, I may be a little young and naive, but I don't take everything I read as gospel. They're all just your opinions, which I respect your right to express, but please acknowledge the fact that I take different parts of them to add to mine own outlook on stuff. to a lesser degree!! >_< actually me and atwood share a similar view on this subject and i think you will find our views on relationship psychology are probably similar as with other mature members on XLT, (i only pretend to me immature, honest) I would like to make a few points on romantic relationships which is common knowledge, but it might help. Being in a relationship helps you to get to know yourself , the girl may expose your weaknesses as you will hers, if you are smart you will learn from it and develop into a more balanced person. You are bound to get hurt a few times, but this will make you stronger for the next relationship and you become wiser. People tend to be attracted to attributes in others that they lack in themselves, for example if you are shy and quiet you might be attracted to a loud and bubbly girl, she might be attracted to you because she lacks depth and intellect. These relationships tend to break down after a certain amount of time, especially when you are young. Instead of finding the strength you lack in someone else, you have to develop it within yourself. It's when you finally become a balanced individual that you can meet someone else who is the same and begin a ever lasting relationship that grows strong. my views of women may seem controversial to some, because i look at the subconscious working of the mind/ false perceptions and the effects of what modern day life has on young men/women of today. that can get a bit complicated and it's not worth thinking about that now... |

He said that I need to learn what it is like to be with someone a lot of the time and maybe to live with someone. I have already lived in the very same room as someone, where I worked last year and this year. I think the main point he was trying to get across is that I need understand the significance in the real world of compromise. To not have one's way all the time. This is especially relevant to me, as I do have a very specific idea of how I want things in my life to be. I am by no means a perfectionist, just pernickity, some might say, hehe. I think I am learning to compromise things a little more every day. But, of course, every personal improvement, specially conscious ones, occur little by little. :) |

thanks ;)) yeah you need to compromise and be flexible, if you are too stubborn to learn or change you will end up very unhappy, i see people like that all the time. I can see you are wise for your age, it's good to have that awareness, but it will take real experience to really get to grips with it, i only started working out more about women about 2 years ago, when i was your age i was clueless.. Alot of people on this MB are thinkers, which is good but also it's dangerous to over analyze everything, and in regards to relationships that can be a bad thing. I made that mistake :( Once you develop a 'take it or leave it' attitude with women, things get so easy and you will find girls are more attracted to this, the absolute worst way to be is insecure and neurotic, which is what over analyzing will do, that seems to be a challenge for most of us though This is a great subject anyway, me and my friends often bring this kind of thing up in out late night chats. :P |
