Just got to listen to Numbers Lucent, Star Time 1 is really
groovy, good to hear Squarepusher hasn't lost the touch with
his classic sound, the bass lines are quite funky.

there's nothing like beatmatching exercise on a friday
night: mp3 version vs lp version

I can't say I really like this album. It sounds far too
clean and thin, as though he chose to use presets
exclusively. I can't shake the feeling that I'm listening to
the soundtrack of a playstation 2 boat racing game. The bass
has no bass. I do not give thansk.

I was listening on my headphones, which normally have plenty
of bass response. Maybe I just downloaded a bad rip, but
every song sounded like it was all mid-range and treble.

I think that's typical of Squarepusher recordings.

I didn't have that problem with Big Loada.

err, I dunno maybe I did. I'm listening to journey to
reedham now and it isn't.... overly bassy. Perhaps
you're right.

NL sounds pretty thin with good headphones. and remarkably
good on shitty headphones.

The album has a "nicely mastered" sort of sound, just as
Hello Everything. It doesn't try to sound loud or something.
It sounds even quieter considering the retarded pursuit for
loudness in todays music. Just crank your knob up and stop
whining.

yup levels / mastering etc on it is incredible. worth
turning up loud and not supercharged to sound extra loud.
