amazing to know this, it actually deserves its own thread
really.

nhs :

85% of secondhand smoke is invisible and odourless
Secondhand smoke contains 4,000 toxic chemicals, including
69 chemicals that cause cancer.

89% is invisible and you can not smell it!!....gases linger
for up to 3hrs when all seems clear....or until people
filter it through their lungs.

march 12th no smoking day.

so it's been 11 days now without smoking

i could smell a cigarette from someone smoking nearby and it
smelt like heaven was on fire and i was receiving it through
my nose

the desire to smoke decreases by the day. although i do seem
to be actually dreaming about smoking too. it's funny cos
the other night i had a cigarette in my dream and i was
like, 'oh for fucks sake i've gone and ruined it all' and
then i woke up and you know when you wake up and you still
think it happened, well i thought that and then i realised
that it didn't happen and then i felt good.

i just had a marlboro medium and then i hade a djarum clove
right after. i feel so relaxed.
why bother giving up smoking anyways? with those second hand
smoke statistics, you'll get cancer anyways.

getting on.

11 days :P

it gets easier from here....once in a while a large wave
will hit...but remember its only for a short while do some
push ups or eat some almonds. ( haha thats what i did it

why bother giving up smoking anyways?

cancer is not the only thing to be worried about

cardio vascular damage is the one...all the oxegen to your
vitals (every organ and muscle even sexual organs...are
damaged every drag you take...

its like a dimmer switch for a light its turned down sooooo
slowly then before you know it is pretty dark and you cant
turn it back up. you lose your health and you end up in
hospital cues wishing it was all over.

the flip side of the coin is incredibly different
...awesome... you should try getting past day 5 or 6 ...or a
week see how you feel.

You bother because you don't want to contribute to the
second hand statistics.

Smoking is so strange to me. I've done every drug under the
sun to excess, but never once had the desire to smoke. I've
tried them obviously but prolly only had 10 ciggs in my
life. Absolutly nothing about them appeals to me.

My parents smoked, all my friends smoke. Gah it just seems
so stupid.

They may. It's all a matter of getting it all to work out.

Hey I loved smoking and managed to quit nearly 3 years ago
now. My advice is to go cold turkey - non of that nicorete
shit that just prolongs your cravings. Also fuck
hypnotherapy: it doesnt work, its cheating and it wears off
- seen it happen to my mates.

After a couple of weeks you'll be able to deal with the
cravings as they wear off. Also smoking when your out
shouldnt be as much of an excuse anymore as you have to
freeze to death for the pleasure.

If you find it hard round your mates (if they all smoke) or
whatever then attack this situation head on - if you can not
smoke in the most tempting of environments then you can not
smoke anywhere!

Good luck. Remember: it DOES get easier and easier as the
weeks pass. After a few months you wont even think about it.

you've got to adjust to it. like there's some sort of
barrier you break through where you suddenly start to love
it.
a bit like rape.
