haha fuck, I was ready for something that would do my head
in but this is fucking tidy.
Perfectly laid back and suitable for a quiet night in. I <3
it.

I should really have kept up to date with the music you
board people have been making...it's great.

I can imagine the video for this one being footage of a
factory with big robots making car parts. The focus should
be on the two guys disinterestingly operating the machine
every now and then there should be a bullet time of one of
them scratcing his arse, picking his ears, chewing with his
mouth open. The rythm of the robot should be in time with
the track until about 20 secdonds from the end one of the
guys starts to dance around lika an octopus for the other
ones amusement and accidently gets his arm in the machine,
you don't see what happens the camara focuses on a slow
motion clip of the uninjered guy pressing the kill switch
blood splashes across the lens. Track ends

Man, I love this! You are indeed one of the best musicians
on this board. You write imaginative, killer melodies,
always well produced and with an ever present sense of
humour. No wonder you're from Bergen ;D. This particular
track reminds me a bit of The Third Eye Foundation - and
perhaps Plone - and I just adore the analogue synthpad thing
that appears on top of everything else for the first time @
01:03..

Well done!

<3 you guys!!! Thanks!

Co: hahaha, Bergen rock city! This also reminds me that I
have one of your tracks called my excuse or something, but
I'm not sure if it's the full track; it just stops suddenly
(1:52). It's lovely, though, and if it's longer, I want the
longer version.

I'm afraid that's all there is. I seem to have retired from
the whole music creating business altogether.. I don't even
do extremely lofi stuff anymore, like the track you
mentioned. I recently moved house so I have no time or space
for recording music. I miss it though, so I will pick it up
again later. I hope.

Rock on! :D

Your style is wonderful as always, though I must say the
tuning really ruins it for me. I'm sure that you're well
aware of it, and that it is part of the sound, but would
like to bring to your attention that it's really nasty for
some people. Also, I feel that the opening riff needs some
variation as it begins to repeat. Gradually decreasing the
dynamic until the entrance of the other stuff could suffice.

You should get back in right away; it's fun!

sneak: Thanks! <3! And, yes, the tuning is on purpose, but
mostly for the sake of "texture" or whatever you would call
it... The guitar stuff got its sound and dynamics from my
reel-to-reel tape thingie, and it's a loop and the only
sample in the song, so there's not much to do about it,
really...

Most of them are played on a violin, but towards the end we
just figured it'd be funny if we put a full-on synth
orchestra on top.

okay, and the weird timbres came from just pitch bending, or
also other filters?

offline Drunken Mastah from OPPERKLASSESVIN!!! (Norway) on 2007-10-30 02:49 [#02139119]
Points: 35867 Status: Lurker | Followup to sneakattack: #02139117 | Show recordbag

There isn't much filtering. The violins are overdubbed so
that you get that slight difference in phase and pitch,
since you can't play exactly the same every time, but
of course the other instruments also come into play in
creating that. The saw probably cuts into the violin a bit
since the waveforms are quite similar at times, and the
rhodes wraps it all in. The guitar sample guides it all.

okay, thanks. The violin sounded quite odd at times, and
the vibrato could flare rather violently, so I was wondering
what was going on..

Hahaha, yeah, neither one of us can really play the violin,
so the technique isn't classical, but we can still make
melodies on them!

I wanted to comment on this last night but my internet died
shortly after I listened to it.

It's very good. It definitely has a film-score-esque quality
to it. I like how it seems to almost be a mix of lo-fi and
hi-fi, in a way. I agree with sneakattack in that I would
have liked slightly more variation in the melody, but it's a
really good track overall.

It b fantastic and I'd like to know how it was made, the
voice parts make me wonder if it was possibly mostly simply
voice, mutated with software into tone stuff. The only thing
I'd change is in the middle the first main part repeated
again. And this part contained a small handful of higher
pitch notes on top which was great the 1st and second time,
but maybe on this repetition these should do something else
like become longer notes and slightly different note changes
if you know what I'm talking writing about but
probably don't. Also the lol bla bla accompanying 'lyrics'
are what make it idm, ie. elements that make it embarrassing
to listen to in front of other people.. conventional normal
people. Right. Left. A volcano is just god jerking off.

Hahahah! <3 w M w reviews!

It's mostly all made by just playing the instruments. I
think I know what you mean about the notes, yeah, and I
think maybe we should have changed them up a bit, but alas,
now it is too late.

I was going to put a burp in there but I forgot. But check
out that awesome melody solo part I did. Like that simpsons

terrible melody on lisa's sax. Technology is anything that

In the land of xltronic IDM where only one person is likely
to listen to your track anyway, the best memetic replicating
strategy is to latch on as a parasite to a hosHht, or the
remixee if you will, forcing at least one person to listen
to it, with a loHHt of commas. Plus they are forHHHced to
give you positive feedback out of reciprocal pity, even
