Anyone going this year? I went last year for the first
time, went on everything except the Barney ride... man, I
have to try Air out!

If you are going with mates Jarworski, collect the tokens
off Cornflakes, when you've bought about 3 boxes (you get
one Adult ticket free when you purchase another). They had a
similar offer last time I went, it was with Weetabix I
think!

We're getting a package trip I think... coach up, two days
there, four star Stoke On Trent hotel, just like last
year... yippee!

I go every year! It's fantastic - I prefer Nemesis to
Oblivion.....and Katanga Canyon is another of my
favourites!

I usually go up there in June...

We went in August, the weather was perfeck...

I like Nemesis and Oblivion equal... everything in the X
Sector is amazing...

Thunder Looper should never have been removed - it was so
fast!

pOgO remembers that one. Do you remember the Worm In The
Apple ride? That was her favourite

That was in the same league as the mini beast wasn't it?

I remember one year, some guy had a heart attack on 'The
Beast' and they cordened to the area off from the public
whilst the ambulance dealt with the situation!

I used to like that ride....it was one of those rides that
you were never quite sure of whether or not they should've
had some form of strap or belt to keep you in your seat!! I
used to like the way on some of the drops you'd fly about 6"
off your seat!

She doesn't know

I hate those ones where you're not strapped in properly...
the viking ship in Oakwood was like that, I went at the back
when I was like, 14, and I was flying out of my seat... it
made my mate cry as well!

HAve you been on the rollercoaster in Blackpool? I haven't,
I'd love to, but it's a long way to go just for one
fairground ride. I'm not keen on Blackpool, we used to go
there quite often when we were kids, we lived in a village
near Lancaster for about 5 years...and used to go there in
the summers!

Apparently it's well high and scary, but also rather "loose"

Right at the top it's meant to sway about 50cm either side
in high wind - that'd be an experience to say the least...

Alton Towers is the biggest and best Theme Park in the UK.
And in Blackpool they have this rollercoaster that is the
tallest/highest in the UK

cool. but rollercoasters are well scary. my worst nightmare
is falling off one of those.

I think the scariest bit of any rollercoaster is when you
are being pulled up the first incline, when you hear that
'clicking' noise!

I have heard stories where some people have actually been
stuck on rollercoaster....halfway through a loop upside down
for a while!

offline Chri5py from my Solarbear (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-21 13:45 [#00134329]

Does anyone remember the mouse? It had such sharp turns it
had to be take down coz it was causing whiplash!

The Thunderlooper was the best ever ride! They had to click
you into place and launch you with an almighty twang noise!

Nemesis is better than the oblivion but They're both
fantastic. The Drum N Bass on the oblivion is ace!!!

I'm going on May 1st. Best time to go.. weather is usually
great and Theres hardly anyone there!!!

Who else is going?

sorry to bring up old topics, but I missed most of this one
(yet I remeber itl how bizarre ?)....... Anyway,
.........yes the apple ride was the same sort of ride as the
beast, Yes they should have kept thunderlooper (it had no
'over the shoulder' bits, AAARRRGGGHHHH !), the mousetrap
was dodgy as fuck - V wobbly and the best coaster I've ever
been on was the Khumba (not sure on spelling) in Bush
Gardens - Florida

And that's all i have to say about that

It's not meant to be very scary, do you agree ?

e.g, nemesis is fun & oblivion is scary *shivers*

Alton Towers isn't my cup of tea really

Call me boring but eating fat & sugar all day and shitting
yourself on scary rides seems rather stupid

and whatever day you go it will always rain when you get
there, then when you're about to leave the sun will come
out

and its costs about 300 pounds for a ticket

well, ok, i used to enjoy the rapids and the fruit machines
and the cork screw was ok, but i havent been for about 15
years

Alton Towers has a public footpath running through it and if
you walk from the village of Alton you don't have to pay.

In September magic mushrooms grow on the grass there and it
is pretty cool to go on rides all messed up.

Alton Tower has been amazing the last 2 years, and it's
pretty cheap.

It's only about £12 to get in, pluss it's full of pubs now
too !! If you go in about august the weather's perfect too.
Best weekend you'll ever have !

(I love alton Towers =oD)

It is good to go for the fire works but if it is raining
they close most of the rides.
