I like the "Birdy" soundtrack a lot, it's got a nice sweaty,
tropical jungle vibe. I've never seen the film as it sounds
too sad and I am very fragile.

I also like the "Passion: Last Temptaion of Christ"
soundtrack, which is good in evoking a dry, desert
atmosphere, quite the other end of Birdy really. I only saw
the film once 100 years ago on VHS and I wasn't paying
attention as it seemed quite boring and I was only waiting
for Bowie to appear in it and then I don't even remember him
in it so I may well have passed out or gone to the toilet.

I used to like "So" 100 years ago. I used to have a "Best
of" which I used to enjoy "Solsbury (sp?) Hill" and "Shock
the Monkey" on. I remember on Miami Vice they played "Biko"
once and I liked that very much. I also mean to get "Peter
Gabriel 3" as it's recommended on Amazon for those who like
Scott Walker's "Climate of Hunter", which I do. When I was
at University I had a tape of "Us" but I only liked a couple
of tracks. "Steam" is good though. I'm more likely to
deliberately contract SARS than pick up "OVU" or whatever it
is. I used to have some of his Real World albums that he
always seemed to meddle in, my faves were a Nasrat Fatah Ali
Khan (sp?) one (that even had a Massive Attack remix on) and
one, I can't remember the name, oh there was a picture of a
black man on the front, Hahaha, oh how awful of me.. Baba
Maal there you go, it came to me in the end. Call to prayer,
that was the title.

The original...he is where my music life begins. So and Us
even for only a few songs a piece, couldn't be touched by
anything i've listened to in the past 14 years.

ironically never wanted to see him live though cause its
sounds so completely different from the studio stuff. this
guy is about the studio and i wish he'd bring that across
more live than all of the theatrical stuff, which he's fond
of. nothing wrong w/ theatrical though whatsoever, just more
studio sound would be nice.

that said, so much love and repect from me, i could never
express it fully.

music of my childhood, solsbury hill and sledgehammer and
others used to make me very happy and uncontrollable at a
young age.

i don't think i'd listen to any of his stuff now though. not
even for the nostalgia trip.

He's even better than Phil Collins, especially the late
70s/early 80s stuff.

"So" and "Invisible Touch" were my first records I bought of
Peter and Genesis, respectively. I grew up with the
pop-oriented side of these artists. Later I would discover
that these guys were once in the same band together and had
this surreal artsy side to them that was both bizzare and
fascinating to me. I play "The Lamb..." CD quite a bit
still.
