what do you think? [constructive criticism appreciated]

i feel it needs something else but i can't think of what.
perhaps i'll never be satisfied, it's just my nature.

What is it you are trying to achieve? What class is it for?
Its hard to give constructive criticism for something like
that when you don't understand what context it is meant for.

the message i suppose is "stop watching tv, and go play
outside, kids..." i'm trying to portray action but with
camouflage effects. i was thinking perhaps adding one more
thing (possibly to the left of the image), but i'm not sure
if its necessary.

i decided to do some minor tweaking. the guy in the center
was kinda buggin me. i think it looks a little better now
with this new model.

You need to pay attention to: global light color, global
illumination and aerial perspective.

why did you change the kid?
that was the only nice thing on the pic, to me...
you should have kept him and changed the rest of the things

mmm needs more dog?

I think the photo you started with was too busy and had
distracting areas like the bark of the ground. Also the
colours of the original photo were flat and lifeless. I
think you need a better photo of a playground maybe a
silhouette of a playground on a hill with a sunset in the
back ground maybe with a vibrant pinky purple through the
sky or an orange like a summer's night.

Then you could cut out sections of the play equipment and
have a much more recognisable and dramatic effect.

On the second picture, the kid as no shadow and seems to
have only one leg.

I'm not sure that playing outside is good for children. They
might use internet in order to become more clever perhaps.

This is top notch. You have some awesome skills. I am,
however, missing something. Maybe the kid could be running
towards a land mine? Just to symbolise the danger of land
mines on children's playgrounds.

melack: unfortunately i decided to stick with the second
version
but thanks for your input.

B123: i see what you mean but its very difficult to find all
those qualities in a single picture. perhaps if i had my own
photography equipment i'd love to take such a project into
serious consideration. this is just a minor project for
class, just a bunch of ideas i've borrowed and been inspired
by. i really do appreciate your vision.

Yeah, those considerations are of paramount importance in
this instance, you truly are an expert. It's not that what
we're looking at is shit, that would no more be saved by
observation of global lighting or aerial perspective than it
would be a swift kick to the atrophied nuts, it's important
that you show off what you learnt one afternoon in your Art
& Design class.

its only a class of about 12 students. i'd say there are
probably 2 or 3 more students that i find their work to be
relatively good. we're all beginners for the most part. the
other class my professor teaches you can tell some students
major in drawing, their self portraits came out phenomenal,
especially these 2 pictures that were put up in the
classroom. someone also did a great job in drawing a purse
the shading work done was superb. all in all i'd say my
experience was good, seeing as i'm a nursing major
:). my true passion is video... i'm definitely going to
spend alot of my time doing that. whenever the time deems
appropriate.

Hey, I'm making an MP3, any tips? At the minute it sounds
like "gnnnnnnar" but I am hoping in class to make quarter
grade in the upcoming semifinals of Sounds Design and then
majoroid in Audio Practability, I may not nothing about
simple music but I'd like to dive straight into surround
sound experimental harmonics and just make a kind of buzzing
WHHHHAAAA that appears PSY-multaneously in your brain and
about 6 meteroids behind, at the apex of the thought-eroid.
