Pro: a legendary artist who gives so much with his music, and i love the fact that you rarely see him on t.v. or anything. He gets requests from mainstream artists to collaborate but he refuses. a terrific lonesome cowboy.
con: hard to find any when you're a fan. The only one i can find is not enough live performances.

(+) i used to like his music a lot; i still find 'music is rotten one note' great.
(-) i got really bored of this whole « drill'n'bass » thing... and a lot of his music is, unfortunately, drill'n'bass (or similar enough).

the only serious con i can think of is that he does not have proper bass frequencies on his records. like almost nothing under 80k, the kicks are not low, the basses have no low freqs! it's fucking annoying sometimes.
now, rhythm, chord sequences, melodies just kick arse and production (apart from what i mentionned above) is pretty good.

I can see what you mean with this. I love his stuff, but the mastering of some of his records (well, mainly "Ultravisitor", "Hello Everything" and bits of "DYKS") can be really off imo. It's really irritating because the tunes are otherwise really food.

definitly true. It's sometimes jarring to hear an otherwise very good tune mixed terribly. The opening track on Hello Everything sounds like he simply made it and didnt even bother mixing/mastering or eqing any of the tracks.

i dont disagree with that, i do think however that the whole fast sequencing adding a different glitchy effect to each drum hit style of electronic music reached a peak with Go Plastic. I dont think this style of programming has been surpassed since, only mostly poorly imitated.

Absolutely true. I enjoy all of Go Plastic, and I think that the whole glitchy/using-effects-as-an-instrument-in-their-own- right appraoch has never been better done previously or since.

The occassional really good track (UFO over leytonstow, Iambic Poetry, Red Hot Car)
Cons:
These good tracks are real rarities and you're lucky to get one per album, never mind several.
