Anyone watch this yet?
What did you think?
Did you like it as much as I did?
Was that a remix of "Omgyjya Switch 7" playing when Micheal
Kane is smoking herb and dancing?
Did you enjoy the multiple headshot blood splatters?
What was up with the Pig floating above the smoke stacks
like on the Pink Floyd album cover?
Was the baby supposed to be Jesus?
Was the dude supposed to be Jesus?
Was the scene in the barn supposed to reflect the nativity
scene?
Who liked the soundtrack?

just another post-apocalyptic flick to add to the list. the
only difference is the better than average actors, and that
it isn't made in hollywood but in the bloody old U [nothing]
of K

I forgot to mention the movie has a wonderful nudity scene
featuring a black preggo's titties. Worth the price of
admission if you ask me.

sequence near the end end.

its really well done. it looks like everything that people
who are now posting about "whats going on", are projecting
towards the future. i.e., total lawless mayhem. it is a
really depressing film, not like :( a day, more like, slash
your wrists 3 incarnations in a row.

and its got michael caine as a hippie off-the-grid
weed-growing recluse = bonus! and he listens to zen-music
(which at least two on this list have identified as mashed
up afx - i dont have an opinion on it)

its so fukin bleak.

This film is superb!!

Reminds me to Twelve monkeys by Terry Gilliam.

The children is possibly the post-apocaliptic Jesus..

The next Alfonso Cuaron is a Doc called Paris j'taime.

I thought the movie was very bad, much much worse than I had
expected. I wish I hadn't wasted my movie theater giftcard
to see this triflin load of horseshit. I liked Cuaron's Y
tu mama tambien. This was amazingly bad though. Shallow,
sentimental garbage. I really thought I went to see a
spielberg movie. Wretched, useless characters, horrible
script. Looked stupid, too. There were a few nice
landscapes, but overall it was really trendy-looking, I'm
sick of seeing the same tried and true 'effects' in movies,
you know what I'm talking about, that desaturated tone,
shooting straight into the sun, blown out highlights, this
shit is bad. Maybe those things were cool the first 100
times they were used but I am not so impressed the millionth
time around. I seriously almost lolled when they dragged
the baby through the silent-in-awe soldiers, oh god. The
music, hahaha.

regarded as quite a cinematic achievement.

I also think it was terrible. A poorly thought out mess
that tried to appeal via surprise action and drama. There
was material that appealed to the mind, they didn't even
probe the greatest issues of the movie's own
context/circumstances.

I saw it in NYC near times square with a mentally retarded
audience. Any time anyone was shot or maimed, they cheered.

because the movie is obviously not about the story it's
telling. u have to dig a lil deeper.

The movie is not what the story is telling, yeah? What the
heck is the movie about then now?

This and the Fountain are some of the most over-hyped, trite
movies in recent years. Not to mention arousing such stupid
comparisons to Blade Runner and 2001. It's a shame. These
types of movies appeal to a certain type of people that like
to bask in platitudes delivered via "cool" imagery.

Saw it tonight, it was cool! Kind of had a 28 days later
feel to it. Always put in the safe hands of someone for 15
minutes then they A.Die B.Try to kill them and get passed
onto someone else.

One thing I LOVE about futuristic movies is that for some
reason the future mass produces tons of stuff. There are
always factories all over the place ... making stuff. But in
these science fiction films, 70% of the civilians live in
futuristic chantey towns and can't afford to buy an apple,
let alone some future device. Who buys the stuff that the
ga-zillion big corporate factories are producing in these
sci fi movies?

It was definatly some of Omgyjya Switch 7 remix... and I
think I heard Burial- Spaceape playing in one scene in a
club.

Overall not the great movie some are hyping it up to be, but
it was slightly above average and somewhat entertaining. I
probably wouldnt see it again.
