I just got a PSP. Anyone able to recommend a good site for
info on the homebrew stuff you can use etc?

http://www.psp-hacks.com/
Is a good trustworthy site.

http://noobz.eu
Noobz created the eloader and there are links to a database
with all the various homebrews for different firmwares.

To get homebrew to work, you need to have a firmware version
which can be downgraded. Whatever you do, DO NOT UPGRADE the
firmware. I think if you have below 2.8 you can downgrade.
The first site has a few decent tutorials.

theres a custom firmware out now that allows you to play ps1
games, gotta downgrade it to 1.5 first tho

Fav+

Gigi you didn't have a go on mine while you were down in the
end, did you? Glad you've finally got one, we'll have to
have a 2 player in the new year when I'm back down in
London. Just a heads up, I've just ordered the 1gb card for
mine (looking to get back into homebrew for it) and found
this the (far and away) cheapest for an official one:

Offtek

There's good Nes and megadrive emulators and a tidy sample
based drum machine for it, so hopefully I'll find the links
again and repost them here.

BTW, feel free to give me a bell if you want help/advice on
installing the copy protection circumnavigating thing.

yeh.. pspupdates is probably the best source out there
(although, they shy away from the more "illegal" aspects of
things), I'd suggest hitting some torrent sites and tracking
down emdemulator (plus you can get firmware downgrades to
get back to 1.5, and rum emulators all day)

You can buy the equivalent of the old GB/GBA flash carts
(flash memory in a cartridge shape) that you can copy
games/homebrew to.

A couple of them are really weird/don't fit with the
style/theme of the game at all, but are still fun to race.
I've actually just bought a bigger memory card partly
because I couldn't fit all the extra wipeout content on my
32mb card without losing some save games.

Nice, they're practically encouraging you to pirate then.
:D

BTW I should be in London (Harrow) some point this week if
you're about?

The homebrew scene is probably the only reason to buy a PSP
for me (bar the new MGS which looks excellent). Any decent
games coming out for it in the near future?
