ive finally bough a dvd recorder to burn all my mini-dv tapes. but im not sure of what quality shall i do it. my options are:
- high quality (1 hour) - dvd standard play (2 hours)
i dont know if the mini-dv quality is better than dvd standard play (so i would use high quality) or if it is not and i could get twice hours. i dont want to loss quality.
thanks in advance!

Find out the res of the two types of video and go from there. I'd do it but I'm fucking lazy.

i made a research and both are 720x480, but the VBR is 12.0 Mbps for the first and 8.0 Mbps for the second.
mini-dv tape resolution is 520x390, and now i need to find its VBR!
why theres not at least one good site for these kind of references?

if it's less in resolution you probably won't loose much on using standard play.
