Hello Meow

That Squaepusher track sounds like bad video-game music. I
mean, seriously, what persuaded Warp to put this piece of
shit out? The drums sound naff, the melody is cheesy, and
the synth sounds resemble the worst of the 80s. Shit.

You mean it's fun and playful? God forbid. We like our IDMs
ponderous and forbidding.

Rob, I absolutely adore this track. Along with Welcome to
Europe it's the best on the album for me.

IDM belongs in the ElYsian Fields of Academe, not in the
grubby videogaming paws of riff raff. Get your minds out of
the SquareGutter and listen to a Max MSP controlled robotic
arm that turns a page in a phone book every 20 minutes. NOW
THATS MUSIC AMIRITE HAY GUYS LOL

yes, the melody is cheesy and yes the drums aren't like his
previous craftings, but that's the fucking point. If you're
a good musician, you would never keep sticking to what
people think you do the best, and just take it by the balls
and wing it around and let it wack into a wall. That's
exactly what the squarepusher did. He took his music and
scrambled it up to something else. Something less DSP
fuckery. I love it.

Apparently some members are allowed to spew hatred towards
artists/tracks and others aren't. Anyway, luckily the other
tracks off the new album are also playful but aren't crap
sounding along with it. Apart from Vacuum Garden, that's
another shit one.

Welcome to Europe is indeed wicked, can't wait to hear that
one on CD.

Members are allowed to spew as much hatred/love/shit
opinions towards artists/tracks as they feel they need to.
Other members will react to specific hate spewing
accordingly.

It's the only song on the album I like. If it was release as
a single I would buy it, or I will buy it off of Bleep.
However I do get disappointed when the trademark "sped up
break" comes in and ruins it.

I think it's a nice lil piece of music. the melody theme has
a nice retro-ish feel. complete classic the next hawaii 5-0.

seriously, Exciton owns as a track, and it's not on the

90% of squarepusher bores the shit out of me. maybe its just
not the kind of music my ears enjoy. i hope i can say this
without you fucking lot putting words in my mouth you cunts.

who else here experienced non-listeners of this type of

tracktitles of squarepusher?

i really likes this track but appreciate that where its at
with squarepusher is in his live performances.. just look at
the recent live unreleased tracks he did for bbc..... acid
bass rave blast assaults.... pure squarepusher

A decent melody driven funky track like "hello meow" is
totally allowed as long as stuff like the 2 breezeblocks
gets an outing.
