Chris Clark, Clarence Park

I never see him mentioned, what does everyone think of him?
Lord of the Dance has got to be my favorite track by this
guy. Diesel Raven, Bricks, A Laugh With Him, great stuff...
reminds me of Cex, only a HELL of a lot better.

he's sounds like an aphex clone to me. but a good one.

You totally missed it when all the IDMers were making a huge
stink about chris clark and only chris clark.

He is like an aphex clone, only he has mastered the
inventor's style and surpassed their ability. He's like
afx... only 900% better. (not that afx is bad, just Chris
Clark is sooooo much better).

Not only is he an aphex clone, he is the ORIGINAL clone that
rdj was trying to clone with drukqs.

And another reason he is better is he has training in oodles
of natural instruments.

So he can kick just about anyones ass. Except for autechre.
No one can kick autrechres ass.

Actually, I don't like Chris Clark as much as I just made
myself seem. But his stuff is totally dope, and I think he
is better than 95% of other IDM out there.

On a side note, I am just checking out this Global Goon cd
'Vatican Nights'. I am pleasantlty supprised that a rephlex
release can sound this good (I have been heavily
dissapointed with most of the other stuff).

chris clark is pretty good, and uplifting mostly. he has
only one album out, right? let's not compare him to afx
then.

only one out but it's easy to compare it to rdj album... and
drukqs too
drill 'n bass with lots of lush melodies and experiment
tracks, pinao tracks...
for me he is a little clone with fucking talent who needs to
search a style of his own but who 's going to make a lot of
money if he wants to

clarence park is really a good record for me but it's very
short and sometimes it seems a bit like
aphex+boardsofcanada+miracalix=perfect

I love Clarence Park, I'm just waiting on his next album.

Ophecks: Why not bring up an old Chris Clark topic?

Are Chris Clark & RDJ 2 different persons or could it be
that Chris Clark = RDJ???

I guess I DID miss the Chris Clark stuff... I mean, I
haven't been here too long, really. Just since late last
year, so of course I missed all the great albums that were
released before I got into this stuff.

I wouldn't say he's better than Aphex... no way. But he's
good, and he's mastered his own style. But he's not as
interesting as Aphex.

well chris clark is good I admit but it's difficult for me
to compare him to afx

Clarence Park would have been a better follow up to
Windowlicker than Drukqs.
Not that I think that Chris Clark is an Afx clone, he just
makes some tasty jointsss..

he's got the studio and the skills down pat..he just needs a
few more tunes to use these skills on..
"The Dogs" is one of my favourite current tracks

Clarence park rocks, it's only way too short.

yeah. it's short.
I mean I don't know what is missing, so in a way it doesn't
feels like it's uncomplete.
But on the other hand 30 minutes, it's just way to short.
I like Aphex Twin's mini-album "Come to Daddy" more than
"CC"...
and it's also around 30 minutes.

Indeed, it isn't uncomplete, but it just makes me want to
hear more of this.

Proper Lofi, Bricks, and Lord of the Dance are all good,
he's even got a bonus mp3 on his warp microsite called
guitar solo or whatever. CDs too damn short for the $.

of course I agree with you.
Actuallt I just put on "Come to daddy" (the album) and it's
really one of my fav aphex works. I mean it's also quite
short but I like every track on it.
I think it rocks. sweet stuff!

yeah Chris Clark is good...
but you can't compare him to aphex...
they are so very different.
I liked his album (which I own), but wasn't to fond about
his EP (which I don't own).
Still looking forward to his next album though... I've said
that like 3 times on this mb =)
