Do you want to work?

Do you actually have the desire to work? I don't. I could
stay the whole day at home, and I wouldn't become bored. I
do not NEVER want to work

Whilst I don't really like work, I'm glad I do it
because it makes me appreciate time off all the more.
Whenever I've not been working I find I actually get less
non-work stuff done than when I working, just because I
slack around and don't do anything worthwhile.

of course i don't have that desire. sometimes even ashamed
of this - i'm paid for something, maybe it's time to do
something for that salary besides icq talking, reading
books, listening to music, going out, timewastin@xlt,
writing emails, eating, drinking tea? Or continue being a
lazy cunning asshole who knows when to work and when not to?

"I couldstay the whole day at home, and I wouldn't become

that doesn't sound like the Monoid I know and love.

no, fuck this capitalist slavery! i'd rather be outside,
FREE, harvesting my potato-fields and hunting gnus to be
able to survive the winter... but i'm forced to sit here in
this bureau-chair and get paid for posting rants on internet
forums, boo, how alienating! ;P

...
i'm sorry... if you actually just wanted to know if i think
i'd feel empty/bored without my work... no.

if i could get paid to sit in a university all my life and
live comfortably off rswindled esearch grants and getting
paid to climb cliffs in greenland, hacking out Halkierids,
and still have time to try and write IDM and get pissed
every weekend, i would be the happiest man alive.

I would love nothing more than to not have to work. I don't
get bored when I'm ''doing nothing'', I certainly don't have
to work to appreciate time off, and I'm agoraphobic and all
that shit. But I have to so I can, y'know, survive. I wish I
could find a way to work as little as possible. I don't even
want a nice car/house/clothes or anything, so the ambition
for me to work long and hard is not there.

had hours that suited me I think i would be happy with it.

I would love to quit my job but I have a family to support.

This thread certainly beats your:

"Best way to shoot up heroin"
"Do you eat your own spunk"
and the numerous "I'm so depressed/I want to have sex/no one
likes me" threads

keep up the good work!

i've been unemployed for a while but i'd like to work. it's
necessary - to get money for living and to buy music and
equipment for making music.

"do you want to wank ?" - idea for a next thread, Monoid

never
EVER
work as a cashier

especially when you are in need of money, those loads of
cash look very inviting, plus there's annoying customers,
shitty working hours, etc etc.

I rather wake up in the morning and do something I want to
do instead of doing something I have to do. Everyone has got
some passion that will help someone out. Maybe you want to
start your own business?

i'm just going to tell people not to get work as a
waiter/waitress. especially if you don't like or can't deal
with people very well. i make decent money usually with tips
and everything, and now i'm more used to the people i have
to deal with, but overall it's a pretty shitty way to make
money. and i have to go in tonight too... oh well, i'm
supposed to drink with some friends afterward, which is an
event when you're 19 and live in america.

if i could get a desk job i'd at least try it out, but i'm
still going to school.

my job's alright. i can pretty much make my own hours. i
am doing interesting research. i have a great boss and
coworkers.

of course if i could get paid the same rate to watch movies,
make music, play video games, or something, i'd take that
job over this one in a second.

If you wanna be a lazy ass, work two days a week to afford
food and the rent. If you wanna travel and have fun, work
five days a week. If you are too lazy to work at all, starve
to death
