So who likes a bit of stand up? I recently watched some Dane Cook and he's pretty damn funny. anyone suggest some good stand ups? I like Eddie Izzard, Dave Attel, Bill Hicks, Mark Thomas etc. |

Yeah i saw Dane Cook on the insomniac tour. It was pretty awesome. The whole tour was decent but dane cook is something else! The DVD is quite good aswell. I watch standup quite often i must say |

i saw teh insomniac tour it was great. I'd never heard of or seen him since then. Sean Rouse seemed good too and giraldo but i can't find anything else by them. Dane Cook seems to me to be the american Peter Kay, least imo hehe |

whatcha think about 'The Aristocrats' documentary? Bob Sagat was surprisingly funny. George Carlin was surprisingly not funny. That mime was the funniest with his dog-fucking pantomime. |

I went to see a showcase of C-list comedians at a comedy club the other week. Alarm bells rang when the first act had been moved to the last slot. When he came on, it was apparent why; by that point most of the audience were shitfaced and laughed at anything, even being asked to "Put your hands together for...". So, as spectacularly unfunny and without stage presence as he was (imagine the bit off the Trigger Happy TV series 1 DVD where Dom Joly does piss-take stand up, but even less amusing), some people in the audience still laughed. You could look around and see who was sober as they were looking decidedly bored. In the end me and my friends left and the best he could come up with was, "So, you're leaving, it's really that bad is it?" my response was, with no malice in my voice/without raising it, "yes, you're shit." Any half decent comedian should have verbally floored me at that stage, but instead he just said, "fair enough" and went silent for about 10 seconds before carrying on with his act. So, anyway. Stand up comedy: sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it isn't. |
