|sp4m| Should i continue composing ?

(bad english: i'm a frog)

One year ago, my hard drive died. All musical compositions
lost. Didn't compose since. I have some backups, but i lost
most of my works. Listening to my old mp3s, i was wondering:
is my ideas enough interesting for continue composing ?
Here's a sample, tell me about it and if you want more. Hope
some feedbacks.

(^-^)

Le chant de la porte 9.mp3

Méchant.mp3

Nardes (2 bis bis).mp3

hi and welcome to the board. i haven't heard your music
yet, but a similar thing happened to me last year, where i
lost all my music software and had to learn new programs in
linux, starting from scratch. my answer is that if you
really enjoy making music, there is no question that you
should continue writing it. you can't let a hitch like that
stop you. just come up with new ways of doing it.

downloading and sympathizing. I lost 2 years worth of tracks
and had a writers block for two years after that.

things are looking up now though, but enough about me

*puts on first track

pretty brooding stuff. good choice in sounds, you could
perhaps try not to sound too IDMish, but apart from that
everythings lovely. liked the ending of la chant and
méchant. make some more, please

oh, and welcome

le chant: this is quite lovely, actually, imo! it could've
had some other sound than that massive choir-ish sound, but
it definately works! I love the percussive sounds!

méchant: not as good as the first and that choir is in this
one too... you should try more defined melodies... and that
excludes the "orchestral hit"-like sounds.. the drumwork is
still awesome, and this one ends in a glorious takeoff!

nardes: this sets itself a bit apart from the others. still
quite nice, and a bit more chilled!

good work, monsieur!

Actually, those songs aren't really finished, except Nardes
2 and Berceuse. And they will NEVER be finished cause i lost
all my samples sounds. Pity.
Anyway, i'm glad it pleases you, messieurs, tahnx a much of
a lot of blablabla...

(^O^)

you won't get much blablabla from me, I'll just say I have
enjoyed the sounds. well-thought-out beats. keep it up!

tunes tomorrow. Keep on groovin' !

nice sounds, too bad you lost them, you baguette-smelling
twirp.

"Le chant de la porte 9" sounds a bit Jackson-y.

all the little metallic percussion sounds remind me a bit of
Mira Calix.

but enough already with the comparisons, just get on with
it.
