I know he's probably more famous now for that Chappelle
sketch than his music, but I just love the Rickster! There
are loads of brill classics like "Give it to me Baby", "Cold
Blooded" as well as the obvious "Superfreak". If you listen
to his stuff, he was almost as innovative as Prince, in his
own way.

I like the sketch, but it's getting a little old now.

No really. My name is Rick Harold James. I live above a
cheese shop in the town of Dunstable.

I downloaded 30 seconds of give it to me baby, but he didn't
say "YEEEAYAH!", "OOOKAAAAY!" or "WHAT!?" at all so I
deleted it. Plus it wasn't that good. Superman, square dance
or my dad's gone crazy by eminem are way better.

I confused him with little richard or someone.

ODB's cover of Cold Blooded is better than the original.

the only reason rick james' obituary meant anything to me
was because of chappelle, now how's that for questionable
fame, maybe dave killed him.

vocoder.

Excatly. I just really love their music. Completely stripped
of any irony, and just funky as hell talkbox party music.
Its worth checking out some of their less popular tunes. but
i'm glad you already know them! more people should!

I love all the old electro
funk stuff. Synths+slap bass+lavascious lyrics=PARTYTIME!

Yeah!!! I watched that movie Napoleon Dynamite, and i got
really happy because they use "so rough, so tough" in this
scene. Great movie by the way.

Was searching for some Prince videos and got the Prince vs
Charlie Murphy sketch by Dave Chappelle. Well funny.
