Autechre fan?

Okay, this is just to check how far I have to go to become
an Autechre nut. I have:

Incunabula
Amber
Tri Repetae
Chiastic Slide
LP5
EP7
Confeld
Draft 7.30

as well as:

'Chatter' from the album Artificial Intelligence II
Anvil Vapre
Basscadet
the remix of Mike Ink's Polka Trax
'Lanx 3' from the mix album Wasted
the Autechre tracks on Blech II
Gescom: Mag / Mag (AE remix)
Gescom: Keynell 1

I almost bought Cichli Suite, Garbage and Envane the other
day, but wondered whether I was getting TOO much Autechre.
After all, there IS other music out there... Or am I wrong?!

Chatter is my favorite AE track.

There is no such thing as too much of any music, unless it
is jazz which on the whole is crappy anyway.

Ouch, scup_bucket! Envane is sold in an independent shop in
Sheffield, near where I live. The home of Warp... I am
surprised that 010101 thinks Chatter is their best track. I
didn't think many would have heard that. What about Lanx 3?
Anyone ever heard that? As for what 010101 said about jazz:
listen harder! Jazz is awesome: Charlie Parker, Miles Davis,
John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Charlie Mingus, Thelonious
Monk... Oh yeah. Btw, I do have tons of cd's, so it's not
like I sit around listening to Autechre all day long. I'm
just wondering how much I have compared to the rest of you.
Also, I don't have their latest album: is that worth
getting?

I understand that Autechre are amazing musicians and
everything, and I like a few of their tracks, and they have
my respect, but..... I can't actually be arsed listening to
them.

Lol. What's on your playlist, then, swears? I need to start
buying some new stuff, instead of albums from 60s and 70s
all the time.

Listen to:

Team Doyobi
Scritti Politti
Rick James
Prince
Lory D
Commodore 64 game soundtracks
Kyuss
Super Discount
Jackson
Chromeo
Vitalic
Alder and Elius

Loads of stuff.

Wow. Apart from the first 2 and Prince, I haven't a clue who
the rest are. MAN, I need to get in touch. But I've got no
speakers attached, so I have to go and buy stuff. Plus: no
money! Ah, I'll just listen to old opera CDs instead!

no, listening to autechre is pretty much equivalent to
wearing big, high-heeled leather boots.

God, yeah. They sound sooooo much like Sister Sledge, but
without that raw, innovative edge. Imo, it's all just Wire
magazine hype. PS: Get the new Sugababes LP. THAT'S where
it's at.

Well, son, listening to new stuff is cool and all, but...

You can't pass Envane, Cichli Suite and Garbage! They aren't
peripheral, you gotta max out your "Aexperience".

Ah, good, validation; I needed that. So these are good
releases, right? Because the later ones I bought -
Draft7.30, Confeld and EP7 - don't always hit the spot for
me. Or is that mad, sacrilegious idiocy on my part?!?!?!?

Jazz is great to play my friends and I spent a whole summer
trying to play Giant Steps. But I just can't listen to it
anymore.

When I got Artificial Intelligence II I got a free T-shirt
with it. Chatter just makes me feel warm!
