I love nin. And the fragile is probably my favorit album! I
really like the instramentals.

XD

The album will grow on you, just give it a chance.

i never gave it a chance, i admit, i sold it. a decade
after his first record, i was tired of his whiny posturing.
the instramentals were probably the strong point, but i
think Reznor pretty much overproduced the record to death,
he didnt have the courage to really go different
directions.
i was very disappointed that Reznor still clings to the same
whiny adolescent voice that he has for a decade. grow up
Trent. i read an short interview awhile ago and he was
blaming the media and his record company because the Fragile
didnt go multi-platinum. hey, Trent, the Fragile was an
overpriced record with no hit singles, that took so long you
lost half your audience. and it still probably sold well
over half a million in the US. whiny bitch.

I like the fact that it is over produced makes it good. Why
is it still considered better if art/music is an organic
process. I think it brings an element of craft into music
and we should stop judging the contrived elements of music
and embrace them.

...........................................................
nin is ............................go to spinner.com,
download the shite, adn then find the electronic section.its
has tons of elements of the electronic
world...............but go to ground zero, the last hour is
an interview w/trent.....the dude that does the interviews
is a smuck.

I hate Fragile with an undying passion. I can't even listen
to it. It is one of the most boring if not the most boring
releases I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing.

I own pretty much every NIN release up to the Fragile and I
really wanted to like it but there was nothing to like about
it.

his voice gets to me after a while. i like the instrumentals
best. o and that song i think track 8 from cd1, 'i woke up
today....' brilliant stuff!

but it's too gloomy for me these days.

Fragile is great but I admit Trent's refusal to grow and
wallowing in angst and self pity is getting
tiresome..Musically Fragile is his best work but
lyrically..stuff on Pretty Hate Machine had more meaning to
me and the lyrics suited the raw frantic electro than
Fragile..

It is true that being a millionare rock star, Trent must
struggle to be depressed about anything.

My favorite NIN track is still Sin (dub) from the single.

I never got to the second disc of The Fragile. It's not
because I didn't like the first one, it's just that 'The
great below' leaves me thinking that there's just nothing in
there that could top that.

I think it was a bit of a mistake from Trent to put such a
strong and emotionally draining track in the middle like
that..

Or then again it might be just me being a lazy fuck.

loud, imo

I used to quite like the louder stuff on disc two but that
starfuckers inc just stops me cold..ugh..it actually spoils
the album for me a bit

i loveeeeeee a warm place....it's just sooooo WARM...ehehhe

anyway i love the CD, and i think it was worth the
wait.....well almost....eheheh

i enjoyed it even more after hearing it LIVE. i don't think
it's too depressing or angry like his previous releases, i
think it shows a certain maturity. but his
voice.....well.....it's not my fav =)

I love Pilgrimage...It's an Awesome instrumental...
But Pretty Hate Machine was the best album...
I still want to buy the All that Could Have Been DVD, but I
need money...
And in response Ubik's comment: I don't understand how he
could blame the record company for it not going
multi-platinum...It's HIS record company for godsakes. That
sounds like he's indirectly insulting himself to me...

his label (nothing) is bitch to the parent company
(interscope) which itself is part of a multi-billion dollar
global conglomerate. it's not a pretty situation. so nothing
can sign whoever they please but they still depend on
interscope for funding, and interscope has a different
opinion than nothing regarding what music should come out
soon. quite honestly it would not surprise me in the least
if trent abandons ship and makes nothing an indie label.

it had been my favorite album for more than a year... now
i'm not sure, i don't listen to it a lot anymore but
everytime i do it i get the same feeling that it's a
masterpiece... i love the whole album, and even if it's
still NIN every track isn't about hate, sorrow, despair,
self-loathing, etc... (ok, i admit many of them do ;)) —
the first 3 tracks are the best "introduction" (?) to an
album i've ever heard, i really always follow the feelings
expressed in these... (anger, than appeasement, then a frail
serenity, feeling like you're somewhere else, and stuff)
