so far i really like about half this album, the rest is
growing on me.

as it stands:
1.mhtrtc
2.geogaddi
3.campfire headphase
4.twoism

Twoism is piss poor iin comparision to the other releases. I
know it is old though.

Fave tracks at the moment on campfire headphase are oscar
see through red eye, hey saturday sun and slow this bird
down.

yeah, thats good too.

As it stands, there isn't a track that i dislike on this,
which is a good thing.

That means it has potential for me to class it as "really
good/excellent."

Indeed! Also my offical opinion on this album is that it is
fucking brilliant!

great music. great melodies. only complaint is about a
couple of the track titles. they deflect my mind into areas
of non-enjoyment. the track titles sound somewhat
corny/lame/sappy.

I hope Boards Of Canada comes out with a new album soon. I
had this idea for the title, but they probably won't listen
to me: "The Campfire Headphase"

hey, it's totally a personal taste thing. they can choose
whatever track titles they want, but I'm not fond of the
titles: Dayvan Cowboy, Peacock Tail. Well, that's it
basically.

I usually love their titles. This time too.

Yeah, I liked the use of "Sherbert". It seemed like that
could be a name for some real low-fi sounding IDM track
along the lines of RDJ's Milkman or something.

Hey don't worry. I wasn't getting on your case. I just
wondered which track titles were the ones in question.

: )

where is that a quote from? do you mean this? "it's totally
a personal taste thing"

what's so funny about that? Are you challenging me to a
word duel?

hey Skink, didn't mean to sound defense at all. Was just
just trying not to kill anyone's buzz over this album, so I
indicated that the track title thing is just a personal
annoyance/nitpick.

I went to hmv japan and the cd would cost 40 euros with
shipping costs

fuck that track

offline nacmat on 2005-10-16 20:16 [#01752051]
Points: 31271 Status: Lurker

what I dont understand about the extra track is:

if farawell fire is the closer of the album, why is the
extra track after it? isnt that breaking the original
concept of the album?

offline SPD from United States on 2005-10-16 20:32 [#01752058]

well putting it anywhere would do that.

but it would only be 18 euro as far as i can see. ¥2500
and it says the thing qualifies for free shipping.

import cds are generally less expensive than normal cds in
Japan.

hence the extra tracks on all those releases to make people
buy the normal release.

or at least that's what I thought.

HMV, ¥2,500 on the english version of HMV Japan. put it in
your basket and then hit checkout and it tells you about the
free shipping thing.

my question is:
was the album intended to include that track?
do artists like the inclusion of theese extra tracks in what
they consider a closed work that is an album?
