Bought a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 Pro headphones today.

Holy shit, for the cost, these things are SEX. Despite the
fact I had (what I thought, at least) were a half reasonable
set of headphones before, listening to stuff like Autechre
on these is an entirely different experience altogether -
I'm hearing stuff that I honestly didn't notice before.

I know others here have recommended these (or simular) in
the past; man, I'll recommend them allright.

I've only used one pair of headphones I'd say were better,
but they were stupidly more expensive (and I didn't own
them), so go figure. :-)

i'm a big fan of the standard sony 90 dollar jobs, i've had
mine for almost 10 years now and they're still kicking (the
bass rattles a little bit) i got a pair of sennheisers,
they were like 60, and i listen to those a lot but they're
open-air and very bright sounding, and they dont seem to go
up very loud.

yeah, these are closed, circumaural monitoring headphones,
which is great; blocks outside noise. they sound awesome
even when they're down low.

i bought a pair of US60 sennheisers once, and wasn't that
impressed, to be honest. i liked my sony's much better.

damn those look really comfortable, bet they sound amazing
too. I have a pair of Stanton headphones, and I really like
the way they sound, but I've only had 'em for a few years
and they are already starting to fall apart. When I'm
looking to upgrade, I'll definately consider the HD-280.

I recently bought a pair of Sony MDR-7506 which are ace,
though they are a little bit harsh in the treble but the
bass is perfect.

MDR lol that's pure shit, sorry dude nothing against ya.
The series by Sony is the laughing stock of the entire
headphone audiophile community.

Should have spent your money on better entry-level
headphones like Koss PortaPros.

My father uses this pair. If you ever go to buy headphones
again, I recommend trying some open cans. The 280 are good,
but closed. Open allows for the sound to be airy and
crystal clear.

B.S.
I've had my MDR V600's for 7+ years and they still give me
excellent performance. Best headphones i've ever had.

Hehe, no.

-I've been mulling over getting either the Sennheiser
HD-600's or Beyerdynamic DT-880's and I can't find anywhere
around here to listen to them before buying.
DT 880 semi-open

yeah, i actually prefer these closed ones (normally i prefer
open); i find it takes your ears a few minutes to adjust to
them but they sound damn good after that.

given they're travel headphones too, they're going to be
brilliant for listening in the plane or whatnot (apart from
looking like a total geek, but hey) - i can have the thing
quite loud and barely any noise leaks out, or leaks in.

i've had my eye on a couple of the more expensive open
sennheisers for a while now, which i'm sure would sound even
more awesome... but yeah, they're like, many times the price
:-)

until i can afford something better, i'm using sennheiser
HD477 (50 euros) which, to me, are really comfortable and
have nice sound.

this HD280 is on my wishlist now.
