I get annoyed by certain peoples ringtones, and ringing
phones in class piss me off too... I dont see what's so hard
about remembering to turn off your phone or put it on silent
before entering a classroom, meeting, movie theater, etc.

i actually have relevant commentary. i have a cell phone,
but i rarely use it. but when someone calls it, it just
rings. if i had to pick out a custom ringtone, however, i
think i'd want track 4 from the gas album, "pop."

does anybody really read these posts?

And in his "Concrete Discourses: Reflections on Inter
Spatial Relations (2005)" the poet / philosopher Taffmonster
directs his considerable intellectual weight toward
developments in communication at the end of the 20th Century

my god you really don't like me today do you lol
obviously i am only allowed o post sophetic reams about the
underlying beauty and structur eof the universe, or maybe i
should ponder the ramifications of m theory.

more likely however i shall badly type out sentences about
how certain things piss me off after having a shitty day
venting my frustrations with people instea dof at them!

Mobile phones have their uses - mainly, I hope, giving
tumours to the braindead teenagers and others who spend
their days playing with them... have you noticed, tho, how
they are really quite retro.. think about it - very simple
games, and MIDI ringtones... makes me pine for my Spectrum
128K+.

My gF's mother is approaching 50, unemployed, and whenever I
see her she seems to be playing Bejewelled on her phone.. I
feel like shaking her and saying 'Why?? Why??'. It just
seems a bit of a waste to spend your time having a closer
relationship with your telephone than a (supposedly)
sentient being.

them i hate. and the noises noises they amke.
people dont talk anymore they shout down handsfree kits
going "SORRY I LOST THE SiGNAL"
they are antisocial in a social way its wierd and sucks

If you treat it like what it is, a simple 'phone, it's fine.
If you fetishise it, which is the way they market them,
you're a pervert.

i think mobiles have done wonders but i thiunk they have
killed face to face communication. i think they're great but
i hate them in many respects, e.g. being in the pub and some
mate gets a call and answers it mid conversation. that is
fucking rude. like most things it needs an unwritten set of
rules, a users etiquette. i mean, you wouldn't take a shit
at the bus stop now, would you?

If you've been holding it in for long enough, or if it is of
the explosive diarrheal type, anything is possible. that
aside, I agree with you completely.

they're useful. I try to not depend on my cell, I do get
annonyed when my friends spend hours sending stupid videos
trough bluetooth, I refuse to have a cell with
videocamera/bluetooth until they make them quality.

you don't need a cell phone. not unless its part of your
work. what, you need it for "emergencies"? how many
emergencies will you be having that you can't get to a
normal phone for? give me a break. it's a status symbol;
it's a trend. just one more object to spend money on and
give yourself cancer with and be a slave to.

sometimes, when i see some jackass with a hands free on the
street, i will start talking back to him as though he is
talking to me. because he's looking in my direction and
practically yelling hello, so maybe he means me... i'll try
and have a conversation with them from time to time. they
will usually cover their other ear and walk faster.

I get the point buit i think there is a denographic of
people you have missed out on there.

I have a mobile. It keeps me in contact with my family, my
friends in europe. It is actually a very useful thing for me
to have. I would be stuck up shit creek if i couldn't do
either of those things.

yeah, but why? what about your lifestyle makes it so that
you can't find a phone or use a phone card when you have to
reach someone? why do you have to have the cell phone
specifically? :)

"it's a status symbol"

surely you don't mean that?
it's more of a status symbol if you don't have one i'd say.

i don't like them, but, well, they're very convenient. i try
to use them as little as possible. never in public places
though, i hate to see people do that..especially pisses me
off if someone im with is using it, while hanging out with
me (luckly this doesn't hapen often).

I like my mobile phone.

I like my ringtone (The Tijuana Brass Band - Spanish Flea)
I like my message alert tone (CHUNKY)
I don't use the video feature.
I rarely use the camera.
I use the GPRS.

very loud they tend to be. the person talking to, and
especially the phone itself. are people really that deaf
that they cant notice anything? ohwell.
never go to a netcafe where people are going thru all the
ringtones they can, to find the one they want, whilst
getting phonecalls from random people

loud on cell phones cause you don't have your own voice
amplified like your home phone. I love that you fuck w/
