Aw. Thinking about John Peel makes me sad. He's done so much
for music and now he's gone.

I hate when people's opinions suddenly change after somebody
dies. Two years ago everybody was like:
"Who is this fat old gay weirdo, and why does he bother
playing all this shit music?"
Now everybody's like "Oh Peel! Peel! Let's all suck his
decomposing balls!"

I always liked him though.

hah venetian snares was mentioned on tv this morning - the
bbc news reporter described him as 'unkown acts like
venetian snares' and there was this makeshift sign on the
wall for some reason with snare on it - he performed
alongside new order - there are pics on the radio1 site.

WTF, I just read a dutch article about the John Peel day.

"Het eerste concert vond al plaats op woensdagavond in de
Queen Elizabeth Hall in Londen, waar artiesten optraden als
Jawbone, Venetian Snares and Super Furry Animals.
Donderdag zijn er concerten in Duitsland, Italië, Spanje,
de Verenigde Staten en Nieuw-Zeeland. BBC's Radio 1 brengt
een zes uur durende show."

Why is his name up there, was John Peel that enthusiastic
about Aaron?

I knew John Peel was very open-minded but a person, but
knowing he was over 60 and likes Venetian Snares almost make
him insane ;).

I guess he didn't had the chance to check out Rossz Csillag
Allat Született? I think he would've liked it very much!

It was quite a coincidence btw, I rarely listen to Vsnares
and when I was reading that article I was listening to
Meathole, I had goose pimples all over the place.

peel festive 50 (based on listener votes cast at the end of
each year) and not the actual sales charts.

Really? I think being deadly seriously livid at someone
posting

ON A FUCKING INTERNET MESSAGEBOARD

could be considered clueless maybe. Y'Know, just a thought.

ROFL, LOL, etc, etc,

From where did you glean the "seriously livid"? OMG I'M
TYPING IN CAPS TO EMPHASISE MY POINT. I'm not sure I'm
livid, if I feel anything it's sadness at your stupidity,
resignation and a vague desire to push your fucking stupid
face through a window.

Hmm, you're "sad" and you want to push someones face through
a window. Face it, you're angry at someone posting on a
messageboard. That's stupidity.
Maybe you're not as smart as the witty and articulate
persona you desperately try to act like on this board.

I'M GONNA PUSH YOUR FACE THROUGH A WINDOW BITCH
GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

In all honesty antagonizing someone on a message board over
something so stupid is beyond any words i can conjure off
hand in my current vocabulary.

and to further add information from the FAQ for arguments
sake

Can you really ban me?
Of course we can. If we find you annoying,
destructive for the mb or behaves in a "bad" way -
then we won't hesitate to ban you.

So if anyone in moderation status deems you as an annoyance
that is clearly enough according to phob's own rules which
they are required by him to enforce.

Frankly the moderation is surprisingly lax with the amount
of twatishness on the board and yes that at times includes
me aswell.

I hope this clears everything up.

I just don't like being talked to like that. Just for having
the opinion that a lot of the mainstream journalists like
Julie Burchill either mocked or ignored Peel, then when he
died tried to make him out to be the most important
influence on music ever. As I've said three times now, I
liked him. I used to listen to his show. I saw him compare a
Low gig broadcast on radio one. Why should I be banned?

Now that was a good post because you elaborated on your
thoughts. This makes more sense. Looking at your original
post in retrospect it could have been directed at anyone.
The fact that it was so vague perhaps led to the
miscommunication.

The internet is classic for that. :)
