im a huge chris morris fan, but alas i am in australia... dying to see nathan barley, so if anyone could hook me up with an episode, or guide me to a torrent or something that would be awesome, and it would brighten up my somewhat miserable night...
many thanks...
ps. im only begging because i'll be lucky if i get to see it in the next year if i have to rely on tv here... :)

it was okay. also kind of strangely empty.
it's a bit like a filmmaker making a really violent film to show how much he abhores violence.

woohoo a photo gallery! interactive menus! even scene selection!

I always get the sneaky suspicion about "nathan barley" that the people who really like it are in fact a lot like Nathan Barley..

Hah, it always amuses me to see "scene selection" as a dvd extra. It's like having "track selection" as a special feature with cds.
I thought nathan barley was fucking cack, btw :(

I was a big fan of Cunt on TVgohome.com, so I was really looking foward to the series. The series didn't really have the same "bite" as the website. I still enjoyed the three episodes I saw though. Nathan was sort of different. In Cunt he took him self a lot more seriously, whereas in the TV show ghe was more of an annoying "cheeky chappy" type.

I always, suspect, conversely, that some people don't like it because they're like Nathan Barley (or particularly like the other chaps that work at the magazine, people the likes of which I've met more than a few).
So Non-transmittable pilot (45 minutes) could mean it's either so shocking rude, or shockingly crap, it wasn't shown. Outakes, ok, hit and miss at the best of times, ... Interactive Menu, I'd fucking love a non-interactive menu, where you just CANNOT choose what you want.

well I think it was quite funny in places, but it seems to kind of run past itself halfway during the series, kind of becoming itself what it's trying to satirise.

A friend of mine ended up getting roped into being an extra in the club scene by one of her flatmates who loves Chris Morris' work. She didn't really have any idea what it was at the time. We met up and she told me about it the week it was originally aired. Apparently a fair few of the extras in that scene were genuine trendy Shoreditch types, blissfully unaware of the irony.

A friend of mine was an extra - that's all. It's not that tenuous. She said it was pretty interesting watching Morris work though.

it 's odd though, because whenever i went to gigs in shoreditch they were always sneaker pimps/iamx gigs, and noel fielding's good mates with them, so he was always there. It seemed as if he was indeed one of these "trendy shoreditch types", with the east london bit of sticking up hair and eveything [as displayed below].

Check Julian Barrett & Noel Fielding talking about the very point you just brought up.
Julian, what was it like working on Nathan Barley?
Do you know any Shoreditch 'types'? What do you think of ...
