XLT VIBES #15 | Game Music

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2005-08-23 07:50 [#01704011]
Points: 24589 Status: Lurker

Hi, this is the official thread for XLT Vibes #15.

Criteria

Interpret any music from any game you like! Video game /
computer game / board game :] There are absolutely no rules
about style - you can make a 2-step version of Zelda if you
wish! or a hiphop version of Perfect Dark! So far, there has
been quite a bit of interest - more than I'd expected!

Xceque is doing the final mix, so email him your
submissions: xceque@xltronic.com or xceque@gmail.com

Closing date : Saturday October 1st!

Game On!

:] I'm hoping it will get pinned for a fortnight so I can
put in on my CV

"2005 - had thread pinned on Xltronic.com/mb"

It'll make my CV look uber!

When you say mail xceque the submissions, do you mean email
him just the link, or is he okay to recieve MP3s?

Nice vibes idea Marlowe, count me in.

Very cool. I'm really proud to participate in this VIBES.
I'm very expert about videogames soundtracks. I finished my
track today, i mixed a game soundtrack called "eternal
darkness" on GC.

I'm thinking something like that too, although it would be
cool to create a SAW-inspired Unreal tune.

I found that importing the MIDI into Sibelius and then
creating a simple melody / harmony / bass score was v.
useful :]

Let's see..

I've already completed a cover for the music of Episode 1,
Mission 9 on Doom. I also have one of Episode 2, Floor 2 of
Wolfenstein 3d.

Some other game candidates of mine thus far include Bionic
Commando (NES) and Doukutsu Monogatari (PC Freeware).

I'm already a third of the way through Quake II vs. Grinning
Ape vs. John Carpenter in a three way deathmatch where the
music is more deadly than a railgun up the jacksie.
