everyone tells me my 20s will be a blur, they will go by so
fast

what can i do to probably prevent this and have the most
fulfilling and dynamic 20's? i am 20 right now,turning 21 in
december.

turn 30.

suddenly everything slows down enough for you to be able to
appreciate anything.

I'm not even 30 yet, I'm 27.

but even I feel old. well, not really - just older.

the thing you describe of feeling you have to have a purpose

isn't that strange - I think most of us have it. and not
just when you're 20. it's because every film, book and/or
person tells you you should make something of your life, not

waste it, etc. etc. etc.

thing is: how do you know you're using your life usefully?
how do you know you're wasting your life?

it's all pretty much bullshit, really. you change with age,

so your priorities change, your dreams and wishes change.
just as long as you watch out for comprosing too much and
adjusting your 'dreams' too much to conform to reality,
you'll be doing okay.

until you hit 40, that is. then you'll ask yourself: "what
is my purpose? what was my purpose?" etc. etc.

here's the worst: you live in the present. things aren't
going to happen one day in the far future, you have to make
them happen yourself right now. you can't just go, "hey,
now i'm 23, now i have accomplished this thing i wanted to
do." you have to actually start doing it today to make it
happen.

also, apparently the years just keep going by faster and
faster until you die.

and becoming an "adult" for 99% of the population means
becoming wiser, then cynical, then you give up on things,
then you become complacent and either hate your life or
don't even realize that it has happened to you.

Just enjoy yourself as much as you can, but prepare for the
future so you don't feel like a loser when you are in your
30's. Try to get rich and have a personal jester. And have
as much sex as possible.

My real advice? Become a buddhist. Or something like one.
You will never do it all. The carnal flesh will always
dissapoint you. Accept life for what it is and maybe even
more amazing things will happen to you than you expected.
Don't try to force life. Unexpected things come along and if
you aren't strong or you put too much value in what you were
expecting it will destroy you. Go with the river.

That's what I hate about my life, although I'm generrally
not doing the same job and doing the same things I'm always
in the same place. I hate that. It frrightens me, too, that
one day I'll be in the same place with even less chance to
change it orr no chance of changing it at all.

Age isn't what it used to be, even time is subject to
fashion, 30 is the new 25, 40 the new 30 , 50 the new 40
etc. I'm glad to be a bit older, I like watching the kids
fannying about on eBay paying $$$$$$s for records I bought
at their normal price when they came out. It makes me
LOLZ0r0id hard.

I find it pretty disturbing when my age decade's number
switches to +1. It's a bit of a traumatic event. My dad told
me he got depressed when he reached 30. He even changed of
headdress, thanks to permanent wave. (new hairdo = new life
I guess).

I'm 20 and I wonder why people sometimes say : oh, I wish I
was 20. For me, it's the worst year of my life so far. I
wish I was 10 again, instead.

i'm 28, the worst age for me was when i reached 26, cos it
made me closer to 30 than 20. which meant i was officially
old.

forget all the people saying you'll regret your life if you

Yeah, the good thing is that we all die in the end.

It's a bit hard to figure, but despite the thousands years
of human activity, the entire planet is just now composed of
max 60-70 years old aged still active people. All previous
people are dead, together with their (mostly outdated)
ideas. That's a comforting fact for me.

I mean, fortunately the world changes fast.
