I read "hear" and really didn't understand you meant "here"
for about 10 seconds...it made absolutely no sense. Then I
said it in my mind and it made sense, but it was weird there
for a while, it was like I hadn't been speaking english my
entire life. And no, not me.

Skype is excellent. I talk to a friend in Mexico, and the
sound quality is perfect, probably even better than the
'phone, and it's free.

essay, old boy.

I don't think scup was talking about the ridiculous typo
itself, more about his experience in being very confused by
it.

just kidding by the way, please don't temp/perm ban me!

anyway, the only reason i brought the topic up is a friend
of mine has installed it on his computer, so i put it on
mine to test it out. really cool bit of software. and
because i have a mic built into my powerbook and my audio
out into my monitors, i don't have to get one of those
shitty headsets.

weird thing was that once it was set up neither of us had
anything much to say, so we both said bye.

but i am going to get my twin brother set up with it, my
bird now has it too. probably come in useful in september
when we are living at opposite ends of the country.

I once had a miniature chat with Jaroen on skype, neither of
us knew what to say too! I used it more this year as my
girlfriend has been away and it's great just to leave it on
as it's free. I could hear her whistling or humming to
herself throughout the day. The hand set thing stops
feedback and makes it feel more like a telephone
conversation rather than shouting at the computer 'can you
hear me? can you hear me now?'

does it.

It rocks. I've not bought skype out tokens to phone static
phones yet but Computer to Computer works a treat.

the best thing about skype is the sound quality. you get to
hear the whole range of frequencies. and yes, it's free.
