My ex, who i had another holiday fling with @ Glade this year (yes, i'm a muppet) attacked me last night. She slapped me accross the face sending my glasses flying and i returned the favour - lightly - to snap her out of her hysterics. Then she started boxing at me - to which i sort of extended my arm to fend her off and keep her out of reach - i didn;t want to grab or restrain her as this would have resulted in her huring herself on me as she was flinging around wildly and out of control. This resulted in her going to the kitchen drawer and grabbing a spatula and a scissors and lunging at me with the scissors - this wasn;t in defence ias i was backing off and trying to calm her down. I managed to slap it out of her hand and froze her to the spot with a sort of focused shout. She remained tense but stopped moving so much and let me out of the apartment - i was on my way out before she attacked. I do an martial art and thankfully it saved my ass from hurting her and getting me stabbed. I was pretty shaken afterward but realise that she's got more serious issues than i am willing to deal with and that is that with her after 2 years of on-and-off ness and repeated arguments. Its a pity it had to be physical for me to cop on. What a dope i am. Still - i've learned from it somehow i hope. What a nutjob! Pity... she loved autechre. Is there a connection? - probably not, but i'd better include some sort of musical reference. |

I don't know either of you particularly well, so am 100% unaware of the history that's accumulated into the drama of this incident, apart from the on-and-offness of your relationship - regardless, though, it must've been a pretty scary episode; you seem to have been taken completely by surprise by it. |

Maybe she was just handing the scissors to me at high speed the wrong way around, to make some home-made badges perhaps? Yep.. we had a very scarey 2 year fling. Shes actually done this before but that last guy beat her up and she stayed with him. Seemed she liked it or something and wanted the same from me - no dice i'm afraid. i'm never looking back. The only tie between us now - for i've nothing left at her place and she has nothing at mine - is that i owe her 150Euro for accidently standing on her glasses @ Glade. The only reason she didn't loose it with me then was cos we were on our own in a foreign country. Well i'm thinking she can fuck right off if she' thinks i'm gonna give her it - call it compensation for assaulting me. I suspect though she won't even bother asking for it. I'd not think twice about not giving her the cash back. If you must, or she starts ringing you up asking for it etc, mail her a check/paypal it to her. In no circumstances meet up with her to give it to her. I hope you've learnt not to get romantically involved with headcases, no matter how attractive or interesting they might be. This is the first time i've ever had to use martial arts in reality. I;m glad it helped me have my wits about me and cop on in the heat of high emotion. The incident was chaotic, emotive and i definitely tunnel-visioned but i managed well out of it and totally controlled by physical/mental state as it all happened. Of course, i should have been a helluva lot more pre-emptive about it months ago but love is blind. She just emailed me her bank details for loidging her cash - i told her for tha assault, no dice. |

word of warning - not paying her the money could come back and bite you. have you never seen judge judy? :D failure to reimburse her the money for the glasses will only serve to keep contact between you. if you don't pay her, she has valid reason to call you or call in to your house. if you do pay her, she has no reason whatsoever to contact you and you can leave her behind and get on with your life. if she takes action against you in the small claims court she will win, no doubt about it. i'd really just pay her the money - 150 quid isn't too much to leave her behind and get on with your life, is it? just my two cents.. |

I just totally used this girl who I barely know after two dates in which quite a bit happened I just sent her a text telling her that I'm not really needing a relationship right now. If she has sent bank details, I'd pay her ASAP, if you can possibly afford it. As redrum says, you'd be hard pressed to get a restraining order put on her while she has grounds for calling round (outstanding debts). Pay her the money (as I said earlier, do it via some sort of remote transfer of funds, not a face to face). After that, if she gets in touch, tell her to leave you alone or you'll contact the police. If she persists, get a restraining order whacked on her. |

Brandon is right. This is kind of common in the US. haaha. Sorry to hear of it though. I have seen it and heard about it a lot. My buddy had a knife thrown at his head and it hit him. My other buddy had a knife pulled on him. Seriously, if you physically threatened my saftey or the saftey of my friends you are getting jacked in the face proper. No if ands or buts.
