"Tap" really sounds good! Is it from loops or patterns? How random? Made by MaxMSP?

It's from a pattern, everything is sequenced. There is a slight random element of the feedback for the delay lines on each channel, however they are linked to stop them going wildly apart.

maybe a little off topic here but does anyone know how to stretch an object in Pure Data like you can in Max? If I make a module with lots of in/outputs I can't see them individually anymore. I can't seem to find info about it in the PureData manual...

I shared a zip to: http://www.geocities.com/aeskogen2/dsp/csprg.zip
This is a little collection of my early Max/MSP progs. Main patcher is csprg.pat. It is not ready, but works and you can advance it. There're 6 parts:
- main window: controls your soundcard, send audio to your ears, declares tempo. (F1 toggles fullscreen mode, space is play/stop)
- cs: a vs2-like synth, but more oscs, and all parameter can controlled by functions, 32 programs, eats CPU heavily, but you can control polys. Load and Save works!
- seq: a stupid, basic 16-step pitch/gate sequencer for cs. advance it, and it will be useful! (i can't, my resources're limited)
- glitch: an useful patcher. Makes glitch-sounds to your music. All parameter are envelope-based.
- a reverb based on gigaverb~ - (my favorite) a stereo granulator based on munger~
If doesn't work, watch the MaxWindow and visit www.maxobjects.com. It has no helpfile, ask me. Numbers with IN/OUT are pointing to a channel, so a sound in step1 can go everywhere.
Good maxing!

I forgot: title.pat is a funny patcher that helps you to name your recordings. You tell it what is in your mind, or import a helpfile (I made a txt contains all of Autechre titles), and it generates a string.

i'm well impressed magness. nice work. ive been building a music maker robot on max msp - it creates random melodies in a certain key and tempo and rough centre pitch and im working on the ability to choose different styles. it is quite nice.

Yeah, random is useful. I learned that if your have 2 short pattern (for example your reorder a loop in 16 steps) what are sounding good individually, and then your patcher're blending it randomly, the result will amazing!
I use this trick, and it sounds like a basic breakcore or idm drumlayer, just from an 1,2s amen dnb loop.
Try out!
