Surrounded by Silence?

and intelligent noise. imo several tracks on that album
don't stand in the 'hip hop' category.

I agree, there are lots of other ideas in there that aren't
hip hop. But on the whole I think it sounds very erm...hip
hoppy.

well certainly prefuse has always had one leg in hip hop,
but i don't think this album is anymore so... it's certainly
not going to appeal to most hip hop fans (whereas, both his
past albums could have)

imo

the album is brilliant

more sang than the previous ones, so more hip hop feel to it

Of course its hip hop... is that supposed to be bad? Prefuse
owns 90% of IDM imo. He's got soul.

yeah, its got bloody ghostface killah and el-p on the second
track!!! "hide ya face" is a total hip-hop banger.
the rest of em are mostly hip-hop too. just not your average
stereotypical hiphop. people just say it isnt because it
uses a lot of ideas from different types of music.

the thing, the important thing here is that it is very good

Damn right, massive asset to Warp. He's a clever guy. His
stuff always has melancholy about it... its sad, but goddam
its thesexiest sound out there.

90% of My Mind is With You - sexiest song ever

there are some cracking bits on the new one even if its more
mainstream - some faves, the vocals on 'LA Correction
Exchange' near the end, 'Minutes Away Without You', awesome,
as well as the more obvious corkers like the Blonde Redhead
one etc.

yes yes, I love this album... wasn't as instant as one word
extinguisher with me, but I find myself listening and just
loving the album as a whole, and loving the individual
tracks... I was kind of hesitant to buy it cause of all the
collaborations and such, but strangely enough I actually
enjoy those... the rap tracks are quite good imo...
definitely give this a listen, even if you just download it!
