I saw the saskrotch live thread and i have been intrested
in doing live stuff for a while. You know cuting/making
beats live adding in ever changing sounds/noises. What is
equippment to do this (other than ableton live) and how does
one go on about putting on a live show and making the music.
Id really like to learn. Thanks

I use Renoise.

When I play live I set up a bunch of loops on different
tracks within the software. I get it nice and rounded out
with the different sounds I would use as a full song. I do
dub mixes live, playing back the loops and muting tracks,
applying filters, editing patterns and when im done with the
"song" I start mixing in audio from a second laptop running
the same software. My mixer has 2 samplers on it and it
pretty rubust so I can do some fuckery during the crossfade
sequence too. What im doing is basically like mixing records
except its all my own tracks and I have full control over
each element of the song as its playing..

i coo and whimper into a microphone which goes through an
echo box. i can adjust the cooing faster and slower and
alter the pitch using my thought/wish/action matrix.
Depending on audience feedback i can manipulate the whimpers
into little sobs that feedback and ebb around the room like
gay ducks.
