Lets all enjoy this afternoon and stop this constant
bickering and silliness. It is this kind of nonsense that
reminds me why I havent been coming here so often in recent
months.

God help you all if I started banning people on a whim!

Indeed.

It's only a bloody internet message board, not a life
support machine. 7 Days of the real world could do us all
some good.

this is the post who i wasn't able to post in the other
closed topic

""I think that is a very negative post, and I think it
encourages wild speculation, which is something this board
doesnt need at the moment"

Dear Jedy, we're friends from ages here in xltronic, so you
should know me better. I simply asked who banned Tridenti
and why, then this post degenerated 'cos nobody gave me an
answer. Anyway now I will stop with this ban-shit-topic 'cos
I understand game becoming too much long and boring.

i'm a little disappoint with all you moderators but i think
you often are disappointed with my polls too... so... it's
equal, isn't it :-)

now everybody make a big smile and some mod close this
topic"

I do agree with some of the statements you made. :O

:D

But shouldnt we have used that thread as an open forum?
People are seeing various views on this subject and i feel
as long as there is logical gentlemen like discussion then
it is ok. Although that thread was a bit hostile you have to
remember that through strong viewpoints you are going to
find strong emotions.

It wasnt a flamefest or anything and i feel (although mildly
negitive) it was handled it a gentlemenly fashion with
people actually listening to others persectives for a
change.

I think it worked as a forum to debate the current questions
by some about the moderation team and the mods were very
reseptive to the comments and gave feedback to perhaps
answer the questions that the users had.

Perhaps we should let the discussion a bit until everyone
expresses themselves? Once that is fully achieved then the
discussion will end itself.

Closing a thread like that leaves the people with stuff to
say feeling as if they didnt get a chance. That leads to
more unclairified negitivity that carries over into other
threads and creates more tension.

Just my view point.

:)

I will take your advice and enjoy my beautiful afternoon.
Sunny and a mild 70 with a gentle zephyr. An afternoon at a
local bbq wings joint with some slow beers and laughs about
camping that occured over the weekend.

really. I don't want to sound like i'm brown-nosing, but I
never got a chance to post in the other thread - it was

which were very amusing, but inflammatory.

I'm leaving this computer lab now because i'm getting stared

In all due respect, I feel that your decisions are often
overly brash. You are not a bad person. I've chatted with
you in the past but these types of actions make your status
as moderator seem questionable. Banning shope (regardless of
the misconstrued text) is equal to banning phobia. I have
never once seen Jason say anything negitive towards another
member let alone prove someone.

His statement is correct in the sense that you seem to
surface when you feel the need to ban people. That is where
the percentage would arise. That in and of itself makes it
appear that you would have zero interest of this community
as a community. Moderation should come second to
that. How can someone moderate and correctly guage and judge
posts and various other texts if you dont understand the
members. Again no offense intended.

But wildly taking his posts out of context (especially when
there is validity behind it) is completely questionable.

Please reply as i would like to see where you stand on this.

Why thank you! <3

-----

That said. How can one moderate a situation that they do not
understand for lack of being around? We still have opecks,
xceque, and ceri that could have chimed in as they were
neutral in that particular thread.

Again jedi with all respect, this makes it not only
difficult for other members to understand but adds to the
perplexity of the situation.

I believe there were around four moderators in that thread
that are around more often and better understand the posters
in that thread and thats why it wasnt closed. This in
conjunction with my original (i believe) post in this thread
should provide an ample viewpoint that is perhaps shared by
others.

Perhaps you could step back, put everything aside and try to
understand the very people you are moderating.

Thank you for your time and patience.

One final thing before i am off to lunch.

In the FAQ it states:

Can you really ban me?
Of course we can. If we find you annoying,
destructive for the mb or behaves in a "bad" way - then
we won't hesitate to ban you.

If you notice the underlined text it shows that moderators
work as part of a moderation team. "If we find you annoying"
would imply that more than one moderator is annoyed. That it
was discussed and justly decided upon.

I believe that this very text which is used as an ample
reason to ban people is being used as an unfair loophole
Chris. "we" implies the team aspect of a community.

Tridenti being banned was done in the "we" sense of the
matter and over the course of time. Shope being banned
because you were immediately annoyed and acted out of a
harsh passion is quite an unjust action.

I would like to ask for his B7 to be lifted. I believe i
have provided ample evidence for my case and viewpoint.

Unfortunately i feel as though i risk a banishment just for
pointing out these minor difference. No one here should have
to feel like that.
