what do you think of their music?

if you know them, what is your favourite release? my
favourite album is Protection [1994]. in my opinion the
first track (Protection) is pretty good!

best album is blue lines or mezzanine... I would go with
blue lines though.... but mezzanine has an atmosphere no
other album ever made me breath anymore

five man army is a great hip hop track

I think if search function worked we could find like 25
threads about massive attack

its a shame we are having to wait so long for the new search
feature to be on....

young padawan tridenti... with your age I knew none of htis
geniouses of music, lucky you

I think after Protection they lost it completely. I think
Mezzanine largely sucks balls apart from the tracks people
don't mention so much like Risingson, Man next door or
Exchange. I don't really like it's spidery thin goth hop.
"100th Window", whilst having a couple of good tracks,
suffers from Sinead O'Connor greatly. If you can't get a
decent singer in like you used to have, just do
instrumentals.

I really like 100th Window all their albums differ so much.
What is Danny the Dog Like?

My favorite track is Angel.

i'm partial to the back-half of Mezzanine... the title
track, and Man Next Door... those are fucking amazing
songs...

massive attack are entirely hit-and-miss with me. their
albums, i've found, are mostly filler with some *INCREDIBLE*
songs in between, ie Man Next Door, Teardrop, Protection,
Unfinished Sympathy, Angel...

And what's so great that tridenti knows this music? I'm not
just saying this to take another swipe at tridenti - it's
just here, at least, massive attack are so well known
they're pretty much 'pop'. When mezzanine was released, the
radiowaves were saturated with teardrop and angel.

Which wasn't a bad thing at all at all.

i love massive attack. they are one of the few groups that
i can listen to any time, i.e. i never really get tired of
them. my favourite of their records is blue lines. i also
think that mezzanine is a masterpiece, definitely one of the
very best records of the 1990s. <33333

they were my favourite act in the 90´s so its hard for me
to see them so far behind now

100th window is not bad though... its ok, nice listen, but
sad, cos it remids me how they lost it

Oh ok. Do you think they'll get back on track again or that
it's downhill from now? Not worth a listen then I guess! Is
there going to be another album released?

I suppose they will keep releasing still... but as I cant
tell the future and I am not a fan anymore (not a hard one
at least) I have no idea what will they do... probably I
will buyt it anyway...for sure 2 or three tracks will be
worth it

blue lines is just a warm up. later albums are great, if you
like what Massive do you won't complain.

don't listen to them , 100th window is a great production
example.

anything can be slow and boring compared to rdj. differnt
style, vibe, different druqks

window becomes more "atmospheric" than mezzanine
mezzanine was very "dark&long", awesomeness of depresive
style
i liked to play dungeon keeper 1 with sound of mezza in my
headphones those days and that was really cool
