Any word gurus who would like to lend a hend with the following problem would be much appreciated:
I've made a line to section off part of the text in a word document by entering a load of '-'s
e.g. ------------------------------------------------
I then hit return, turning them into a solid line slightly lower down (almost like an underline).
Now, I have seem to have no way of deleting this. When I hover the cursor over it, I get the "move up or down" arrow, but there doesn't appear to be a way to erase it. I'm sure there must be, any ideas how to go about it?
Thanks.

Just drag the cursor over it like you would to select text, it only highlights a little part of the line but you can delete it like you would text. Thats how mine works anyway.

switch to "normal view at the bottom left of your screen" an high light them in there use backspace rather than delete.
use em-dashes for a line (ctrl+alt=-(on number keys section)
I hope this helps

Cheers Anus, that did the trick. I owe you a pint (no pun intended given your earlier topic).
Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
G'night.

Obviously the correct answer would have been that when you use a series of ----------- signs Word changes it into a border line seperator. The easiest way to remove this is to make sure you have the Formatting toolbar active (Veiw > Toolbars) and simply remove the border using the borders icon group
