jesus, why dont more people talk about him? hes in undoubtedly on par with autechre, aphex, etc. all the warp greats. clarence park is like the condsensed version of drukqs, and empty the bones of you is simply flowing badass bliss. i cant wait until his next release. nnngya!

I hated clarence park, i dont see how it even compares to drukqs.
Empty the Bones is amazing though.

there's just something about it thats very reminicent of druqks. the variety of the tracks (ie little piano interludes and the such), the combo of warm happy melodies with hadbadass beats, i dunno, the two just seem to sit in the same section of my brain.

I liked him live, his act could be improved but he plays good music and he interacts. Basically his music sounds gorgeous in a club though.

I saw him twice. His tracks were not that different and mixing was minimal. I just thought the little that he did worked, just a bit of MPC fucking around mostly, and his tracks sounded good, some excellent dancier stuff thats not on the albums, and generally just fun musics.

i saw him live with Plaid and Luke vibert.
Luike vibert stucked ass, played a set off Rebirth and hid behind his gear most of the time.
Plaid had a SICK ASS robotic arm showing the audience.... get this..... a fucking MACKIE MIXER. FUCKING SICK SHIT MOTHER FUCKER
chris clark was above and beyond the latter, he played good music, was physically into it (instead of being a stoned bored looking dick), made the audience dance, and didnt have a faggy uncreative visual in the background (specifically a robotic arm that made me want to commit suicde)
his music isnt too original, but who gives a fuck? Its not like aphex, and others from Warp are striving to be ground breaking these days.

at the leeds show it just sounded like he'd put some drum loops into his MPC and was just looping drums. very little else. Although he did play Wolf and Gob Coitus which sounded bad ass

His tracks that are killer live are Diesel Raven and this acid jungley thing he played both times I was there. And Luke Vibert live is usually a stomper in my experience.

I like chris clark. When the massive dissapointment that was druqks came out, chris clark was what made me feel better about it all. Beautifull melodies. Very conceptual, very emotional, good music.

haha yeah what were they thinking. there is absolutely nothing cool about hands endlessly turning knobs on a mixer. and what could they possibly be doing? every 3 seconds or so they're turning knobs and nothing changes! the song remains the same!

that' sthe problem with most 'Live' electronica shows these days. Now that everybody uses laptops everything's programmed and it's questionable as to whether its actually 'Live'. I think half of them are actually just playing solitaire and playing a CD

i fell in love with that man with clearence park. althought its not a incredible album. it is more like a compilations of good songs. almost all tracks are amazing and showing how the man can create good tracks in all styles (the ambients tracks like caveman lament are incredible...)... but then he released empty the bones and states his own style what i really appreciate as i was really expecting what direction he was going to take and he just took his own. he demonstrated that hes not only an excelent artist, but also a talented one (in his capacity to invent, in the ae, afx way someone noticed in the top)...
omg, im so shit at writting long texts... but you get the point...
ps: i dont get the drukqs connection ps2: ceramics is aceness too!!!

very true statement.
Even programs like "Abelton Live" are deceptively not really live, to me its the equivelent of Djing. Hell i'd rather see somebody use turntables then an Abelton live laptop set (and that's fucking sad).

nah if your playing thru midi gear connected to live and using stuff like reaktor and max patches within ableton live you can do pretty insane stuff - perhaps yeah if yr just loading in wavs and playing them straight thne yeah fuck that.
also what the hell - vibert said in FM that he hates rebirth.... doubt he'd use it live - perhaps reason? even then he has been amazing 3/4 times i've seen him...
