With such great releases as:
MEN01 & MEN02
Would you like for this record label (with almost no
information on the www) to release more music in the similar
type of format.

im in fav+or.

This is Richard James and Tom Jenkinsons label. It's not
really a sublabel, but are assisted by Rephlex.

MEN is just a catalogue number, they haven't worked out a
name for the label yet.

AFX's releases on Men Records are similar in content - all
of them contain remixes made by AFX for other artists and
noise tracks. 1st single "2 Remixes by AFX" contains two
great remixes by AFX and one noise track. 2nd single
"Smojphace EP" contains one stunning remix by AFX and TWO
noise tracks. So, I guess, the 3rd single on Men Records
will contain NO remixes by AFX and 3 noise tracks.

Actually, the "Bonus High Frequencys" track on MEN1 is not a
noise track, it's an SSTV image.

and in time, someone will figure out what the KTPA tracks
1&2 are. i'm not much of a computer wiz, but these tracks
are definatley not for listening, there's something about
them that leads me to believe they might be a spectrum
program...maybe a game or still images as well? Good luck
in your search.

I'm guessing you didn't follow the whole "is it a spectral
image"-thread, including obvious fakes, that appeared at the
time of this release?

My ktpa theory. Right before Smojphace was released RDJ
toured with Masima and Haswell. I think it is just Richie
sucking their cock and wanting to be noisy like them. Much
like Satans Tornade the tracks are unlistenable, and only
usable to annoy mates and random girls.

I think it's a combination of making an unlistenable Noise
track, and winding up the fans, after the hidden photo on "2
remixes by AFX" he knew people would set about trying to
"unclock" ktpa 1 & 2.

I want to say Meh records, but it wouldn't be funny. I
wonder why he resurrected the name Smojphace on Analord 6?

I wonder if you sped up ktpa it becomes something special?
Or slow it down. Or reverse it. Or listen to it from another
room. Or both together.

I dont think its a label just for AFX, lMEN are putting out
a Ceephax Acid Crew release out some time according to
phille-t, the official Squarepusher aficionado.

it could be a program or a flash animation...who knows i'm
not saying that its an image at all, it could be anything.
i wonder if those 'acid white labels' that cylob played on
his live radio dj set are the ceephex acid crew tracks that
will appear on men records. hmmm

it could also just be music that you don't like.

more men records is always good news, i can't wait for the
next release whatever it is (some ceephax would be perfect)

ktpa 1&2: i really don't think there's something more to
them than the music/noise...
if it's data it is surprisingly "musical", i mean there's
rythm in there and structured panning and filtering so i
doubt they are anything but extreme noise tracks

I think RDJ probably isn't as suited to running a business
as he is making music. He should stick to what he does best
(which he often does to be fair). I think the irony is that
if his music wasn't so good then he would have more time to
put into the labels. Like Mike P is very good at running a
label but perhaps not as talented a musician.

i'd certainly be interested to hear another release on this
label, 2 remixes by afx is one of my all time favourite
releases.
