When you find that one track that really hits you, do you
find yourself listening to it kinda often, or do you (like
me) listen to it on repeat literally over and over and over
and over and over and over for days on end (and no...they
dont get boring after doing this)

time in my car. but, i don't do that with single tracks.

I listen to a track I like over and over, I get stuck on one
track it's The Refused - Liberation Frequency right now. I
don't know why I have an iPod because I have always done
this and I should have just bought a small MP3 Player. But I
want to be part of the whole iPod lifestyle thing.

I always listen to entire albums. Listening to one and one
track ruins it, and should only be done at
parties/pre-parties... that is the reason 12" singles were
invented.

I have friends that have albums where they only listen to
one track (often several times in a row if we're in the car
or whatever). It gets on my nerves...

In the days of tape I would have one album in my car for
months

Not really. I might give an album a listen to more than once
over the course of a couple of weeks but i think that it
would get repetitive to me on a personal level

Over and over untill I get bored then stop listening for a
while and come back to it later.

oh, and I don't listen to the same album over and over
either. I'll listen to something different each time, but if
it's a new album, of course it gets more airtime in the
beginning...

I often have Ae / Elusive recommendation Roedelius' "uber
berg und tal". And "Stone in Focus". Keeps me calm.

Oh man, Liberation Frequency is awesome.

The album where this song is from is incidentally the album
that really opened up the "play-from-start-to-the-end"
experience for me. I was always used to listen to maybe 3 or
4 tracks off an album, but now I tend to listen to the whole
thing in one go.

I never really listen to single tracks at my system, but on
my iPod I have it set to random track play, cause I like to
be surprised when I'm walking/listening.

It is aces.

I guess it's the Brian Eno connection but "Weeping Wall"
from the Bowie album "Low" sounds almost the same, a bit
less discreet and more guitar/synth interjections, but
remarkably similar.

sometimes i listen to the same album for a week or two, when
i'm walking to work. it can cause a bit of a problem where i
can't remember whether i'm in the past or the present.

I used to get very drunk and maudlin repeat-listening to
neko case and tom waits before falling over and crying, but
it's rare that i'll listen to a track more than once at a
time otherwise. Kind of spoils it i think. I'm a full-album
listener at heart really.

No, for the past few years, I've been listening to my
''favorite tracks'' VERY sparingly, and this has helped me
get bored of nothing. Rarely will I find a track that is so
loveatfirstsight that I listen to it like 10 times in a row.
Incidentally it happened the other day with Son Tanto
Triste, the title theme from Salo, it knocked my block off.
