It's my first try and I recorded that whith my camera (the
thing still "working") but I hope there will be better bird
songs this summer... I used to hear really good things in
the past but that's hard to capture I think...

I am listening to "30_04_filtered.mp3" which i believe is
your first link.

I like atmospheric sounds. Recording everyday life is a
great thing and is wonderful. I enjoy hearing these elements
incorperated into things but nothing was incorperated here.

Do you make music? There is great potential here. Especially
with the passing car near the end. It has great build up to
it. With the right mind set and effects something could be
done here.

As a field recording i like it.

The thread title makes me think that there might be a song
here which there is not.

Thanks for sharing!

actually when I was recording I hated that car, but then I
liked the athmospheric aspect too...

I don't plan on doing a track with that for now, because
that would be very difficult...

That car alone has crazy bizarre potential. What kind of
recording process did you go through with this? If you dont
mind sharing.

Also do you make music? What kind?

it sounds strange because I filtered the thing whith a
bandpass of 700 to 12000 with slope of 6, in coolpro, yo

and I used a little mic plugged in my digital camera.
that camera produces stranges artifacts like :
when the screen is open there are high frequencies around
10000 and when it's close they are at 14000, so I removed
them too with a notch haha it's true

the mic was put on the edge of my window (and I guess it may
do resonnance)

very archaic process

well, the birds do sound nice. but honestly, i don't hear
anything particularly spectacular about this recording - has
a lot of background hiss...

offline colani from Retarded (France) on 2005-05-01 16:05 [#01582675]

I forgotten I also used noise reduction in coolpro
with a noise profile made from various "different" silences
in the record.
that uses fft thingy
that thing alter the backround sound like it becomes a 8kbps
mp3 so I've let some original hiss.

I agree...
but it's only for fun not a spectacle and I guess good mics
are really expensive
