I just think that the oldies are the best even with better
CGI and those state of the art SFX they just dont get near,
just look at Star Wars or why ruin a classic like Planet of
the Apes with a remake, why do another Indiana Jones c´mon
we all know that will be lame how they expect an 60 year old
to do stunts like in the old days, sure doubles but it just
ain´t the same.

One of best movies I ever saw was "The city of the lost
children" that movie is so damn european it just has that
fantasy/sureal type of nostalgia that the old films used to
have.

It doesn't matter when the movie was made as long as there's
a good storyline...

Yes, but new movies tend to be more of a computerFX display
than good stories...

yeah prefer the animatronic stuff to CGI myself..unless the
movie is entirely CGI then they make sense..otherwise the
stuff just looks fake in real life settings

youre all talking hollywood movies here. americans NEED
action. without it they'll just fall asleep. that's why they
enjoy sports with riduculosuly high endscores.

(and they're right in some way, when i go to the cinema i
don't want some non-graphic drama)

there are also good films from europe, eg those bbc movies.

The finest example of a science fiction film that has
withstood the test of time is The Day The Earth Stood
Still.

old movies, as long as Man Bites Dog counts as an old movie

the only good new movie i have seen in years was Requiem for
a Dream which was marvelous in the theater

i just watched ari head's on the weekend and i cant remember
the last time i had seen it but it was wicked, and for some
strange reason i found out that 80's movies have alot more
nudity than modern movies, except for porn, unless 80's porn
was really really fucking hardcore
