Just wanted to ask a few questions:
1. What is Scanner like? Should i check em out?
2. Freeform?
3. Cex?
4. Isan?
5. Funkstorung?
6. Arovane
Also, is there any IDM artists lesser known than ae and afx that are essential?

1. yes, the early stuff if you can get to it, like mass observation and scanner 1 and 2
2. perhaps 3. no 4. yes. clockwork menagerie is allright 5. yes. not the acid stuff or the disconnected album. the rest is ok - gets tiresome after a few times though
6. yes, but the early stuff > new stuff

i disagree about arovane earlier stuff > new stuff. i like his music starting with minth. Tides is the best album.
Cex - i liked what i heard.
not familiar with other music mentioned, only know the bandnames.
