aha, i got it

msconfig utility, boot.ini - "check all boot paths" - this
looks for dual boot and offers to remove it.

sweet.

now how do i get rid of the files? can i just delete the
windows folder?

pretty much yeah, just don't erase anything related to your
current install.

If you just go to the control panel, choose system, then the
advanced tab then go to start up and recovery section and
choose settings, there as an option to edit the startup file
manually.

Just remove any references to W2K from that file (so you
only have Windows XP details left) and the bootloader won't
show any more.

Be careful just deleting the folder because you may delete
drivers and shit that you still require, you should be OK
though.

id reccomend reformatting the partition wink2k is on, if you
can bother to copy everything else over, but if you dont
wanna the above will do fine

Run this hidden and lightly undocumented command with
switch:
FDISK /MBR
MBR = Master Boot Record
Thank you I'll be here tomorrow

Oh well fuck me nvm
you got it
Personally I'd use a bootable linux distro to get rid of the
2K partition... Shouldn't XP see it already though?
There's a few good free partition managers out there as
well...
Try the "Ultimate Boot CD", Bootdisk, or Bart's PE
You can make your own custom environment with Bart's
