hi everyone. i hope everyone's enjoying the nice weather like i am (first hot day of the year). tonight's show will start in 5-10 minutes with a couple mike patton tracks, then move into some classic (and neo-classic) hip-hop, dip briefly into some classic techno, then get really weird for most of the last hour. artists tonight include godspeed, aphex twin, tool, lcd soundsystem, tori amos, david bowie, stereo-total, nas, organized konfusion, portishead, matmos, bjork, etc. lemme know if you tune in, i'll be here reading about the new ae album 'bucephalus bouncing ball megamix 2005' |

did you hear about maynard supposedly turning to jesus, thad? that kaada/patton album is amazing but it may take a few listens to absorb.. it's very different from his rock bands.. think of mr. bungle but without the metal and more art and film soundtrack influence you'll hear lcd in 2 songs.. |

scott how do you like the album? i'm not sure if i like the pre-album singles or the proper album better. in retrospect i'm glad the album is more varied and different, it shows he has versatility and hopefully he'll be around for a while making more stuff. he and the other half of The DFA just did some remixes for NIN including "the hand that feeds." |

I like it a lot better after repeated listens. It's a strong grower. So far my favorite tracks are "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House...AT MY HOUSE! ;)", "Disco Infiltator", "Beat Connection" and "Give It Up". Funny I like an album that has one "Daft Punk" reference compared to whatever the real DP vomited up this year...good gravy "Human After All" is horrid! |
