if you cant see to your left, simply get one of those spinning chairs. that way, if something cool is happening to your left, you have but to spin your chair until you are facing it. problem solved!

Hi, sorry for the one post. I seen your message and after having severe whiplash I can't help but feel a need to respond.
Do as Darkpromende said and go to physio or see a chiropractor. I see chiro. If you have a very generalized pain, almost resonance in effect as though you can't easily pinpoint it with your finger you may have some nerve pinching. Other signs would be sensations in places other than your neck, such as down an arm.
Put ice on it now if you are very uncomfortable. You may have an initial sprain, just like spraining your ankle. You can rub your fingers deep along the muscles of your neck to feel a lump or small bump.
I am not a doctor and have no idea how you hurt yourself. Go see a doctor.

you didnt even bother taking a hot shower? it could have at least eased the pain a tiny bit. i sometimes wake up with back muscles that seem to have tied themselves into knots, because the cold got to them.

Chiropractors are best avoided - linky.
Sadly, most people don't realise that chiropractic is complimentary/alternative medicine and of no proven efficacy. If it worked, it wouldn't be alternative.

i fell off a grapevine swing when i was a kid. really high up, and landed on my ass.
i had a mondo headache/neckache for weeks. i'm pretty convinced i went right to the brink of paralyzation with that little stunt.
