[slsk] v156

I got that global message that i should get 156 but i was
wondering if it was worth it. Sometimes when they offer an
update it tends not to be worth it.

I can recall the days of 152 working alot better than the
previous build. I guess i am wondering if anything is really
better and if it is worth it.

The search still blows ass. I'm so thankfull for the "search
among users in room" function.

Yeah. That works smoothly. The search is flawed. I wonder
what they did to fuck it up

im guessing they had bagels with cream cheese before writing
the code, and hell we all know what that does to us...in
response to your question yes bicycles are quite grand

I think the search function was written for it when they
expected a smaller ammount of users... now that there are so
many, its gotten to be a bit difficult. I remember when the
search would find you anything... now it might find you two
or three albums if you are lucky...

mine had several crashes during the day...works odd with XP.

offline xf from Australia on 2005-03-25 21:42 [#01544145]

it's because they decentralised the search, and the way it
was written and the amount of users, it just blew.

this new verison is great, except for the fact it appears to
have a memory leak; had to re-start it yesterday because the
slsk thread was consuming over 400MB of RAM.

It's fine if you search for popular artists at least..

I searched for Deerhoof and Tortoise just now and the
searches were still finding results 5 minutes later.

version 156 I have it from some days, I I say that he does
not change nothing from version 155 build 222 practically.

the search function is working 10 times better than before!

I can see it getting better each day because more and more
people are using version 156

I disagree on the basis that i conducted a number of
searches and i returned a total of 1 result. I'll stick by
this program though. Its been great since day 1.

offline Aesthetics from the IDM Kiosk on 2005-03-26 09:08 [#01544300]

seems like the search function is not working like it should
be for some users

for example...when I searched for 'Ninja Tune' 2 weeks ago I
was very glad to get a result of ± 10 albums, now on the
other hand I get about 60 hits

I do hope something gets worked out for the coming months.

What ever happened to slsk isle? Do any of you remember
that?
