Its all about the game and not about the gimmick.

That shows me nothing. I don't like Gran Turismo that much
anyway so that doen't win the PSP for me.

Nintendo has the capability of releasing at least one game
in each console generation that was head and shoulders above
anything available on any other system regardless of the
relative power of the system. Granted the now Microsoft
owned Rare played a part in that in the past, but still
Nintendo thinks in terms of ingenuity while the other two
are just throwing as much power into the equation and
initially seem to rely on style over substance. I too think
the PSP will end up winning, but that may not necessarily be
because it is the better of the two for gaming.

It's not a gimmick, at least they're trying something new
instead of just making something powerful and boring.

I heard that the ds is a stop gap and that a gameboy advance
2 could be out after the pap i mean psp, which could run
game cube discs , now that would be nice .

It would also probably spell the end of Nintendo.

Its all about the Tokugawa Ieyasu and not the Toyotomi
Hideoshi.

If they released a GBA2 soon after the DS people just
wouldn't buy it, so developers aren't going to invest the
time and money into creating for it. I would hope Nintendo
would learn from Sega's past mistakes. The Mega-CD shortly
followed by the Saturn shortly followed by the Dreamcast
spelt the end of their hardware escapades. If you get into
the game of trying to play hardware catch up you will surely
fail.

I love the turn-based strategy/tactical games. Koei,
SquareEnix and their ilk have made some goodies for the
PSone/2.

Yeah i see what your saying but the psp is a little way off

be botherd thinking about it anymore .. and who cares
anyway its all good : )

I really like the idea of all the mini games on the ds
instant pick up and play time killer , wario game looks
good, 130 mini games i think .

It looks like everyone has dug their own trenches so lets
instead transform this into a "classic game screenshot
reminising thread".

Where did you learn about a GBA2???? This doesn't make
sense what so ever. Anyway... I think that the DS will be
much more performant. And creative than the PSP. PSP has
bugs allready. Sony said they wouldn't change a thing about
it. The DS and its mini games look very promissing to me. I
don't regret one bit getting this DS.... I think that what
you're going to get for your price won't entertain you that
much.
The PSP is basically a Play station 2 that you can carry
around. I have a PS2, and i really don't need to carry it
around... :D

I dont think i could do a 24 hour endurance race in gt4 on
such a small screen ! na im just pickin. i think they should
make a crash helmet with a panaramic screen on the inside of
the visor with built in 5.1 and motion sensors so that when
you turned your head you could look out the side windows and
shit . he e eeeee..

Nintendo is far too gimmicky. Example is there lastest
installment of donkey kong. The DS is a one trick pony. Sure
it might sound good on paper but in actuality it isnt going
to take off.

They have lost touch with their fanbase. Proof? They are
unable to follow trends and listen to what the fans want and
give their new home council online capability.

The gamecube in compairison to other systems cannot standup
to the compitition. The only thing they are doing well is
the GBA. Good to see them releasing oldies on it. Hopefully
they dont screw that up.

I think its revolutionary actually.

Heres Sony in a nutshell:

Ok, lets do everything we've done before, only with
better graphics

Boooo, fuck that. Who the fuck wants to carry around little
scratchable discs anyways? Cartridges > discs

Here's nintendo in a nutshell:
Ok, lets do everything we've done before, only with a
second screen to show the map.

lol@ virtual boy!

At least Nintendo gave it a shot. Although VB was pretty
crap, but they were optimistic in the whole Virtual Reality
market in general, which was unleased on the public too
early. VR is something that just isn't practical yet, but I
think it will be insanely popular and controversial in a few
more decades.

Nintendo is a survivor. They always take 'fun' over 'flashy'
and sometimes manage to get a good balance of both, like
with the DS. They outlived and dominated companies like
Sega, Atari, NeoGeo and whoeverthefuckmade TurboGraphix16.
Which, years ago, were considered equals too (if not
'better') than whatever Nintendo was producing at the time.

Sony is just another pigheaded company that thinks they can
dominate the video game industry (this is comming from
someone who owns a PS2) as well as Microsoft (who will also
fail miserably)
